Yuuki is my favorite character as well as other SAO characters, she's also one of SAO's waifu
I think they could have done a better job of maintaining her importance to Asuna's character; it sometimes seemed she was swept under the rug and forgotten about, making all the tears and heartbreak a waste of time. However, the author is aware of this and has been trying to tie up loose ends in War of Underworld and Progressive, so I will let it slide. I appreciate that her arc touched upon the issue of STDs; most anime are afraid to even say the word "AIDs".
