Ace submarine pilot and all-around maverick, Tetsu Hayami skills have made him a high priority for the military's recruiters. However, he is very reluctant to join up with them, and usually waves away their advances, opting instead to live secluded in one of the numerous flooded cities peppering the Earth.

The animators did a fantastic job with this anime, and Hayami is no exception. There's just something about his character that is just so.... -insert crazy hand motions-
Every cell in my brain is yelling, "OMGOMGOMGOMG" in a deep voice that would be embarrassing if I weren't so in love with him.
After taking a moment to calm down, I'm even more impressed with how magnetic he is as a character. From the beginning, he's shown as a character with seemingly little apathy for problems that aren't his own. Then he does his thing and shows his heart when you least expect it. His actions are human and relatable.
But then again, my mind could still be a little frazzled from his almost constant shirtlessness. Rawr.
