The Jinmenken, also known as the Human-Faced Dog, is an Urban Legend that began in the 1980s. They're rumored to outrun cars on the highway with incredible speed, often causing drivers to crash when showing their faces. Jinmenken can talk, but prefer to be left alone.


The Jorogumo is a spider Youkai that is able to turn itself into a seductive and beautiful woman. These Youkai then lure handsome men into their homes before trapping them in webs and feeding on them.


These Animals are scientifically classified as kangaroos: Australian marsupials known for their jumping skills, their natural ability to box, and their stomach pouches.


These characters have an accent from the Kansai region of Japan, which includes Kyoto and Osaka.


A Kappa is a mischievous type of Youkai that closely resembles a humanoid turtle. They are generally the size of a human child and have scaly skin, a shell, a turtle-like beak or webbed hands and feet. Traditionally, Kappa have a flat, hairless section on the top of the head that must always be wet when they’re away from water, and is the source of their power - but other Kappa known as Hyousube have a full head of hair. Kappa are known to be crude or sometimes malicious pranksters, but are honorable and often loyal depending on the circumstances.


The Karakasa-obake, also known as the one-legged umbrella, is a youkai that typically has one leg (complete with a sandal-wearing foot), one eye, and a long, lolling tongue. They’re usually, but not always, considered to be tsukumogami: household objects that receive souls after being used for 100 years.


The Karasu Tengu, also known as the Kotengu, is a crow-like Youkai. They typically have both human and crow features, collect trinkets and items, and have terrible tempers. They are more birdlike than regular Tengu.
