I just started Neon Genesis Evangelion and I really like him. He can be frustrating at times, but he's hell of a lot better than most other characters in the show. I think he's a great character and I just want to wrap him up into a blanket.
I thought neon genesis was a strange anime with a complex story that I really did not understand it. Shinji is a really plain and extremely boring how can he be our protagonist? He has zero aspiration and he is super depressing. Not an ideal hero.

Shinji is probably the most realistic tragic anime hero ever created.
