Self-conscious, occasionally air-headed, and a bit of a klutz, Shipon is very much the typical teenager. She has an incredible aptitude with computers, and sports a powerhouse brain behind her semi-constant confused expression, but her motor skills leave something to be desired and she can get overwhelmed easily. That said, she is a steadfast friend and can be very determined when she sets her mind on accomplishing something.

Shima Katase, aka "Shipon" is one of those underdog heroines, someone who transforms during the course of a story from a Zero to Hero. Though initially a bit of an awkward klutz, in actual fact Ms. Katase is a freakin' genius, a regular child prodigy who, oh yeah, ends up SAVING THE GALAXY. Memorably voiced by the multi-talented Ms. Carrie Savage in the English dub.
