She is a woman of few words, except when sleeping wherein her mumbles have been known to unsettle the most hardened of martial artists.

I just love how...awkward...she is. ^^
And how she grows from Kenichi's presence.
Apachai learns to pull his punches. The others masters don't change much, aside from getting other their former student's betrayal.
Meanwhile, Shigure joins the others to their meals despite having always eaten alone before, befriends Apachai and forms one of the most hilarious duos in the series with him, forges Kenichi's arm guards, and even take him with her in one of her self-appointed mission to retrieve all of her fathers' swords - something she never did before with anyone.
He's also the only one for whom she smiles (and god is she cute when she does that).
Even if Kenichi is pretty much Miu-sexual, I've been rooting for KenichixShigure for much of the manga's run.
It helps that she's drop-dead gorgeous.

I'm not a fully evolved anime-nut, but if I had to choose a waifu I'd choose Shigure.
