Shanks

Though Shanks is one of the most notorious and powerful pirates on the seas, he is also one of the most laid back. He enjoys just kicking back with his crewmates and having a drink; he isn’t particularly cruel and has more camaraderie with his crew rather than commanding them through fear. Shanks is Luffy’s inspiration and the young pirate aims to become just like him. In order to cement their friendship and ensure that they meet again, Shanks gave Luffy his straw hat, which has since become the rubber man’s greatest treasure.
