She definitely deserves more love.

She's without adoubt the most tragic female character in the world of anime, her tragedy and breakdown were so realistic

I hate how people always reduce her story into a girl who loved a guy and sold her soul to save a boy and I find it a bit hypocritical that people hate Sayaka for this very reason and yet love Homoru for the same reason, Homura also sacrificed so much for love and friendship just like Sayaka, so why do people hate Sayaka for sacrificing herself to save Kamijo but love Homura for doing the same to's unfair

Sayaka story was a morally complex one and it tackled a lot of issues like the meaning of sacrifise, idealism, loss of identity and regret, her story resmbled the original little mermaid a lot but Sayaka is a far more tragic and complex character than the former. Sayaka downfull was totally self-inflicted and it wasn't due to some external factors and this is why her story is so hearbreaking and tragic.

I can see why she's both the director and writer's favourite

There is no reason to hate her. She is by far the most realistic of the girls and acted exactly as any other teenage girl would in such a scenario. She had her moments where everyone would have been better off if she had silenced herself, but every character did. Her heart was always in the right place. The stress of losing close allies, sacrificing your soul accidentally, and being naturally weak and vulnerable against both witches and fellow magical girls would cause all of you guys trouble too. Do not even try to tell me that it would not. In short, Sayaka fulfilled her purpose flawlessly and developed in an impeccable way into the strong woman she became in Rebellion. She learned from past mistakes, got stronger, and continued to work hard to defend others despite her age and mental health. She is only thirteen.

I used to think she's annoying until that episode...I take them back.
