Love him in the 90's anime, despise him in the manga and Crystal. Excellent villain either way.
Personally, I prefer his zany and more sympathetic portrayal in the classic 90's anime. I like that he's the first victim of the Death Busters that are portrayed more like parasitic influences than outright possession. I prefer that he survives in classic and gets a second chance at life. I prefer that he takes a deal with the devil.
