Minato was the Fourth Hokage of Konoha who lost his life several years ago after defeating the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox by sealing him inside the newborn Naruto. He was an extremely powerful ninja known as ‘Konoha’s Yellow Flash’. He trained under Jiraiya and later went on to teach Kakashi when he became a jounin.

I can't help being a bit curious why either no one seems to know who is parents are or just never tell Naruto. Then again after watching the show, it is very difficult to see any connection or relationship between father and son besides some slightly similar physical characteristics. From what I hear about him, he probably makes for a better lead Naruto like character than Naruto. I have yet to see anything to convince me otherwise. I wonder if he was as slow to develop and mature as Naruto. It sounds a bit like despite how short a time he ruled as Hokage, he may have been the most powerful. It is all the more impressive how skillful he was when you consider he faced the Ninetailed demon at it's full strength, which could have ended Oshomaru with only 4 tails and a fraction of it's power, and the third struggled so much. Sure he was older, but the difference in age versus skill and opponent faced really doesn't quite feel like the third Hokage was on the same level as Minato.
