@Aftonstan Honestly rather than arguing with you I'm just going to drop this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Kino%27s_Journey#Kino's_gender Or here's a quote from a mod ""ojou-chan" can be seen in some cases as a pejorativediminutive expression, somewhat akin to calling someone "little girl" or "girly", and Kino could just as easily be objecting to its pejorative connotation instead of its gendered denotation. So if we just leave out all the original research, defaulting to the biological sex should probably be what should happen because the fact is, it's up to interpretation whether "they" would be appropriate or not for this character, and there really is no concrete evidence that I've seen to support that interpretation."
While the commenter below me is correct in thinking that it's problematic to say that a character is non-binary just from appearance, that isn't the real reason why Kino is NB. In the original Japanese audio, it's much more obvious that Kino is explicitly meant to be neutral. https://www.animefeminist.com/feature-kino-non-binary-protagonist-deserve/
No offense but that's a terrible reasoning as nothing in the series indicates that Kino is anything but a girl, that wasn't a good explanation to justify a questionable tab. This isn't even like Najimi from Komi where there was no gender being confirmed as of now.
What is being done by this site is forced based on her appearance and that isn't right no matter how much you want to argue about lack of representation for non-binary. This is stupid.
I think they're non-binary. They don't want to be called a boy and they haven't been referred to as a girl. You can think they're a girl but non-binary people have a very limited amount of representation especially in anime, just let them have Kino it doesn't hurt.
