He wound up being my favorite character. I like the fish-out-of-water trope and his character was dead funny with those aspects. I particularly liked how he appreciated the freedom people have in the present to express themselves, to have so many choices, and to be stupid (lol) and still be able to live a decent life compared to what he was used to while not losing hold of being a soldier and a samurai and what that means.
He is too one dimensional for a 45 year old wanna be highschool student. For the most part all he thinks about or does is talk about or fight ogres. I can not get the impression he forces himself upon Yukina out of my head and like some hentai rape victim she either oddly doesn't seem to mind enough, or somehow gets convinced by his forcefulness that she really is not just his victim. He did kidnap her in the beginning and it is his fault she's involved now.

What an insufferable character. Part of the reason why I dropped this show and save myself the time of watching.
