I never subscribe to the idea that anyone who hates Kazuya is just like him, but at the same time i feel like the only reason why fans do that is because how kneejerky and a-loggy the reactions to him is.
After watching the second season of Rent-A-Girlfriend, I don't mind Kazuya that much anymore. Despite his seeming non-assertiveness with who he actually wants to date (between Ruka and Chizuru), it's clear that he wants to see Chizuru succeed in her acting career and genuinely cares about her well-being.
It's definitely not an orthodox relationship between those two, what with him giving her money (not sure if he's draining himself dry or not, financially speaking, of course), but if Chizuru makes it in the acting business, I don't see anything wrong with him giving her money.
He's still a pervert, but I can't criticize him without being a hypocrite and also because I feel like he's been controlling himself a little more.
I wish he would just put his foot down with Ruka and set a boundary though (assuming she isn't blackmailing him and hiding the rental girlfriend business against him).

All you had to do was date the girl (Ruka) who actually loves you and not the ungrateful bastard (Chorizo).
He needs to get his life togther... Chizuru is way to good for him
