Being a light novel reader, I can say this is one of the most wonderfully introduced and developed characters of all time. I loved him from the start for his personality and strength but as the series progressed into the light novels, I was in love with this guy.
...It's been so long since I've seen a guy with a personality that exists. Recently the guys I've seen in anime are oblivious, bland, and just boring to sit through. I was laughing at this guy's humor once I saw him, and could actually relate to him.
