The people who hate her have no basis to. She loved Ciel far more than he ever loved himself and did everything within her power to protect him. Despite her insensitivity at times, she always bent over backwards to make amends for what she did. She also turns out to be a proficient fencer in the manga, and she used this to protect her betrothed.
After seeing "Book of the Atlantic" a lot of stuff started making sense with her, and she became 1000% more likable as well! WAIFU material right there!

The hate that she gets is just unnecessary.
As annoying as she is, it's hard to hate her after that badass moment she had in Book of Atlantic.
