Saying all her character development happens before the story takes place doesn’t really work for me…so still a Mary Sue for me, at least in anime. Despite that, I still enjoyed watching her in the anime.

Her having Mikasa VA is making me love her even more than in the manhwa

people keep insisting that she's a Mary sue but they don't seem to take into account that she lived once in the life she has reincarnated into and she also lived a life where she studied to be a doctor. she was in her 20s when she was executed & in her 30's when she died the 2nd time around, she basically has the life experience of someone in her 50's with the added bonus of both modern knowledge and knowledge of her immediate future. 
a mary sue is generally good at everything without trying whereas she actually learned to be a surgeon.

Elise is not a flawless character. She is a girl that has reflected on her past mistakes. In her past life, she did not cherish her loving family and she has a wicked life of selfish indulgence. 

It's because she already went through the character development before the story took place. She was reborn as an orphan. So she realized how dearly she missed her loving family. She became a surgeon to make up for her past mistakes and she enjoys helping people. 

Please pay attention to the manwha. 

i'd say i more can't care about her than hate (she is still a mary sue), compared to how well written a lot of other charcters are she is nothing
