I have mixed feelings for this guy.

Sentimentally I dislike him for what he did and of course it made me suffer. However, putting emotions aside, I liked him as an evil character. He was purely evil and did not have a single emotion, not even a little bit of dark background story to justify his actions, he had a very wrong mindset and believes; but somehow had an funny personality. Yeah, he was a horrible person and at the end, just like Kanae, I felt pity for him. He isn't an unique villain nor the first one to have those traits but I curiously like him.

Also, he has such a great character design, he and Akaza's are my favourites.

I like him for several reasons.

No traumatic backstory- it was actually quite refreshing to see someone as unapologetically evil as he was without the 'uwu sad past, I'm just deeply hurt and misunderstood.' That actually had to be the selling point for me. No abuse, no death of a loved one, just rotten to the core. I want to see more characters like that.

Character design- not just that he's hot (admittedly, he is, even though, wow, I hate admitting that lol), but the design itself. A lot of the character designs in Demon Slayer are incredible and he's no exception.

His personality- he's such a piece of hot garbage but he's so much fun to watch and it was so much fun to see him brought low.

Spoiler:

Shinobu being his downfall was my favorite part. I love when the mysoginistic lady killers get taken down by a woman. (and before anyone says anything, yes, I know Kanao and Inosuke killed him, but they wouldn't have been able to without Shinobu poisoning him.)
