[Spoilers Ahead] The root of Bondrewd's actions can be explained by his vast selfishness when it comes to reaching his goals and complete lack of empathy - which is partially due to him losing his mind more and more every time he used the zoaholic (relic that scatters his mind/consciousness into different bodies and basically makes him immortal). So far it wasn't explicitly stated as to whether he became twisted due to using the zoaholic (or) if he was already twisted to begin with and simply became *more* twisted after using it. I'm going to go with the latter from what I've witnessed. Either way, yes he is a great villain, but an absolute devil he is. To certain commenters below, no, he never truly "loved" any of the children he mutilated, tortured, and murdered. He saw them as tools to acheive his goals, nothing more. Whatever words echoing fleeting shadows of kindness that came out of his mouth at times were nothing but a guise, beautiful lies to manipulate and instill a sense of trust in the person he was about to use. He is far from morally grey. Examples of morally grey characters would be Deadpool, Carol from the Walking Dead, and Hisoka from Hunter x Hunter - not Bondrewd. And unlike what some gravely mistaken people say, Bondrewd is far more twisted than Shou Tucker. In Fullmetal Alchemist (2003) Tucker even felt remorseful after what he did to his daughter. Bondrewd feels no remorse. To try to even compare the actions of the two is a joke.
