lol really why u guys hate black star he had the most story out of all the main characters. if u guys should hate anyone it should probably be Maka after all the only good thing she had was her soul perception and Soul Eater's melody. black star acted out to be the funny guy, the bad guy, the "true hero", the annoying guy and the most overpowered character. i loved it when he cut down all the forest when he first mastered the phantom sword and kick mifune butt
I am always amazed by how many people miss important development for this character and just brush him off as the Jar Jar Binx of Soul Eater.
What about the episodes when Tsubaki has to enter the demon sword and fight her own brother? Black Star sits there patiently, waiting for her to finish her fight. When it seems she may not return, he yells "Encore!" while he's on the verge of tears and insists that she can never quit. When he asks her about the situation and she hesitates, he tells her she is not required to answer the question if she is not ready to do so. When they gain the demon sword transformation, Black Star spends all of his free time training his body to be able to use it for more than a few seconds.
How about when he fights Masamune? He takes each fight seriously and it deeply affects him when he is unable to beat Masamune. He ponders it relentlessly and his general character is completely altered due to his intense remorse and depression over meeting an opponent he wasn't strong enough to defeat.
I think people blow him off because he's supposed to follow the ways of an assassin, but that just isn't who Black Star is. He can do it, he simply chooses not to because he doesn't see the necessity in it. I think it's perfectly admirable for a character to find their own way of handling things. When it counts, Black Star knows his own strength very well and he'll always support his friends with everything he has.

how can people like medusa but not blackstar? he's annoying at times but makes up for it with his unfailing loyalty.

im just pissed off they cut out all of his charactor development in the anime. he is over 9000 times cooler in the manga
Some part of me just wants to hate him but come on, he's just so god dang reckless it's kinda cute >x<
