I know that he is technically like a son to Maquia and she is like a mother to him, but I just know that if this was a romance anime, I definitely would have shipped them.
In the anime he was at first the innocent little kid who loves his mother, but then when he became a teen, the fact that he realized his mother is different from others made their relationship awkward to the point of them being like strangers that share the same room. When he became an adult, and later, a father, he started to accept her and moved on with his own life and family.
