I wasn't too sure how I felt about Akane at frist, but she had very good character development. It kinda sucks that people don't give her chance and go through with the anime. Kougami did a good job helping adjusting and realising everything wrong. It's because of him, she developed so well.
I loved her in the second season. She's become very strong and realised some mistakes she's made from her very start. She's a lot more mature and less ditzy compared to the first season.
