Haha ... I'm weird. First I thought I hated her, so I added her into hated characters list. Then after almost reaching the end of the series I decided that I didn't care about that character at all and even said as much in my comment and took her off my list saying that I wouldn't add her to my loved characters list. And now that I've finally finished the last episode, what do I do ? I do exactly the opposite and press the red heart that's after her name :D Talk about mixed feelings ... She was actually really cool in the few last episodes, I was impressed. I'm eagerly waiting for Psycho-Pass 2 so I can see more of her growth and how the story goes on as well.
@linksword I know right? When people see a character with real development and realistic reactions to the situation she is placed seem to think its a bad thing. Honestly she was a little wishy washy at first but in terms of growth and development it was one hell of a journey for Akane across the series and I couldn't of enjoyed it more. No surprise when you see how crap some of the most popular characters on this site are.
Akane reacted in accordance to her character and she just went ahead and killed him with the gun to save her then that would have been out of the character they created for her. Sure it was upsetting to see her get killed and a little unpleasant but she didn't have much growth to her and tied into the story incredibly well. By the end of it I would argue that Akane was more likable than the one track minded Kogami who was a tad too obssessed with killing a certain someone. Akane despite her changes stuck true to her believes and that is admirable shame Kogami couldn't have done the same and all in all a wonderful main character to an incredible series.
You people are idiots. You are watching this like the setting is just any other freedom-encouraging society and can't even get minimally sympathetic about its grim implications. Episode 11 was a great episode for Akane and her reflections on the Sybil System's authority.

After Episode 11 I Was Done With Her And The Anime -_-
