Both have very similar comedic styles and timing. They both center around a band of misfit characters in a world they don't really belong in, yet somehow always make it out OK in the end. Both leads recognize the absurdity of the situations they're in, but either don't care or get too wrapped up in it to back out. Both shows find a way to have extremely likeable and unlikeable characters, but always manage to get a good laugh!

If you laughed at one, you're likely to find the other funny. The characters are often mean and their competence may vary, but in both shows their relationships to each other make you care for them.

Both are anime series featuring a group of idols with a weird/unlikely gimmick  involving the main girls(Being zombies and burly magical girls). Both series parody those respective gimmicks as well as the idol industry in general.
