Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuushabu Shozoku - Reviews

This review would be my last dealing with the Yuki Yuna franchise spanning from 2014-2021.  For me, I enjoyed the sparkling battle sequences and the CGI amination involving the five-girl team of the Sanshu Hero Club, the original heroines of year one, Era of the Gods, and the Sentinels locked in battle with the versatile Vertex.  I loathed the general bloodlust and carnage involving the just mentioned cast of hero-girls, invoking the theme of the need to solve all world problems with the sacrifice of an adolescent female.

Thus, I liked the lighter fare of the two chibi-style series of the Yuki Yuna is a Hero set, Churutto! (2021) and this shorter version Shozoku (2017).  Yuki Yuna is a Hero Club Member is a collection of three eight-minute pieces centered on the five-girl Sanshu Middle School Hero Club, Yuki, Fuu, Togo, Itsuki, and Karin.  But all these shorts just focused on the civic-minded Hero Club.  This is a compilation of mundane tasks, repairing sheds,  tending preschoolers, seeing to the elderly ... stuff that keeps them out of the Forestsize.

That's a shame, seeing that I wanted to see some type of chibi Vertex ... cute and cuddly and ready to kill.  Drat!

That was the disconnect.  The adventures were tedious, but safe.  But the music interludes reminded one of the blood and gore series where girls could lose an eye, or a limb, or a voice, or a life.  One could wish a Vertex would pop out at times.  Karin, who was noticeably absent in the first episode, was upset with the low-key heroism in the other two.  It was almost a competition Yuki vs. Karin for the best hero.

But it's the best way to end Yuki Yuna, seeing the girls in friendly mode.  Upbeat and caring and lacking all those nicks and boo-boos.  It fought against the 'girls as sacrifice' theme by ignoring that theme altogether.

Well not gonna lie this was better than the original it was funny and the slice of life settings is what i enjoyed the most.well unfortunately it is only 3 episodes well if u wanna watch it u can as it is short and fun.
