After 2 years of avoiding "Yuri!! On ice" *I was mad because Yuri was in the name when it was a yaoi, childish right?* I decided to watch it since my friend really REALLY loves it and I was bored so I decided to watch it. Now that that's out of the way let's get into the review.

STORY: Yuuri katsuki, a figure skater, fails in his first nationals and decides to go home after a major slump. Once there, a video of him performing his idol's routine gets leaked. Turning him into a overnight sensation. Things get even more crazy when his idol, viktor/victor nikiforov. Shows up to be his coach along with another skater yuri plisetsky nicknamed, "the Russian punk" who swears to win the grand Prix. What's going to happen to yuuris skating career?

The story is fairly simple and easy to understand and what really makes it special is.. well it isn't the fact that its a yaoi that isn't even the focus of the story. It's how they are able to incorporate every character and give them a back story. Many would say that it was unneeded and pointless for them to shape side characters that are only there for a single or so episodes but I personally liked it. It balanced perfectly with the main character's plotline. Some things that I found pointless was when *SPOILERS* viktors dog got sent to the hospital it felt like an excuse to ensure that their was a excuse for yuuri's rank to go down in the competition but I guess thats just how the story goes.

ANIMATION: . Since "Yuri!! On ice" involves a lot of skating the animation for the skaiting is great! its very beautiful and well done, off the ice its also well animated with the backgrounds being animated well and the characters movements are also well. Overall the animation is awesome its good to look at and when it has to be its more expressive. *in my opinion the first Eros dance by Yuuri was DA best! (。・ω・。)*

SOUND: seeing as how I've only seen one episode in Japanese I'm gonna have to go off the dub. The Characters sound OK I've definitely have heard Way worse yuuri sounds how I think he should, but viktors and yurio's  Russian accent  sounds strange to me considering that I actually know someone from Russia but overall the voice acting is fitting and the sound affects were intrancing. Also the songs that were chosen for the skating fit the characters and sounded great most of the time.

CHARACTERS: MY FAVORITE TOPIC! LETS DISSECT THIS PORK CUTTLET BOWL! *if I even spelt that right*

YUURI: Although many would think he's just a plain underdog yuuri actually suffers from anxiety which I thought was a great addition! Their are many times when the underdog is just great (yukihira-kun), or actually has a awesome power and always wins (sisters testament) So I thought this was a nice change he isn't perfect and he doesn't win all the time. *Plus he's adorable*

VIKTOR: the inspiration of yuuri, Viktor is very flirtatious weather or not its on purpose. He's the comedic character that acts silly in a situation like when someone's mad at him but does become serious when it matters. Although his character is a bit generic he is very enjoyable to watch and I think thats what matters. *Also I Really love his blue eyes! I want him to stare at me too like mmmmn!* (I'm going too far)

YURI/O: yurio is the badass of the group he's  tough to Yuuri at first but its shown that he is very nice like when he was defending his fans against JJ's fiancé. Overall he's a tsundere but I enjoyed seeing him fight and better himself. A enjoyable person to see especially his reactions! *My friend is such a fan of yurio she wants a body pillow of him lol!*

OTHERS: their are just so many side characters so I'm just gonna focus on the number one main side character that we see in some shape or form each episode the one that molds the whole show obviously I'm talking about  VIKTORS DOG! S/he is cute and fluffy I want a plush of them! Their the glue that holds this show togethe- OK thats a bit much. The real side characters are also fun taking up the same amount of screen time as the main leads. As long as they entertain you I think its fine.

CONCLUSION:  Overall "Yuri!! On ice" is a extremely well done show especially if you enjoys sports anime! The plot may be generic and very simple for those who crave a complex story with a bunch of twists and turns But if you just wanna watch someone try to achieve their goal while finding love along the way than this is a great choice. but their is something that I don't understand. Why? Why did "Yuri!! On ice" get so popular was it because of the gay couple? Was it because of the way that it delt with mental illness? This is something that i don't get but since these questions (probably) have already been asked 2 years ago I guess its fine. I will definitely watch the movie and rewatch the anime that made history -√-.

* Now that I'm done with the review can we talk about something more important? Yuuri's butt looks awesome when he's skating! Ice skaters got that butt going don't cha think? I'm sorry if this becomes the buTT of the joke! Also vikturs blue eyes are still hawt they look BLUE-tiful! And yuri/o's love of cats is purrfect! Also my puns are crappy (〜^∇^)〜*

An anime about: Skating, Boys Love, Courage, and Never Giving Up.

The opening song was incredible, the story was perfect. The voice actors were amazing. I could say more but I'll just recommend you watch every episode, before you bash it.

Yuri!!! on Ice - A Graceful Tale of Passion and Dedication

Story: 8/10 The story revolves around Yuri Katsuki, a talented Japanese figure skater who suffers a crushing defeat and contemplates retiring. However, his life takes an unexpected turn when the world-renowned Russian skater, Viktor Nikiforov, becomes his coach. The narrative beautifully explores themes of self-discovery, passion, and the pursuit of excellence. It also portrays the competitive and emotionally charged world of figure skating realistically.

Animation: 9/10 The animation in "Yuri!!! on Ice" is nothing short of breathtaking. The figure skating sequences are meticulously choreographed, and the attention to detail is astonishing. Each performance is a visual feast, capturing the elegance and precision of the sport. The character designs are appealing, and the facial expressions convey a wide range of emotions effectively.

Sound: 9/10 The soundtrack of "Yuri!!! on Ice" is a standout feature. Composed by Taro Umebayashi and Taku Matsushiba, it enhances the emotional depth of the series. The opening theme, "History Maker" by Dean Fujioka, is an uplifting and memorable track that sets the tone for the show. The sound design during the skating routines is exceptional, immersing viewers in the world of figure skating.

Characters: 8/10 The characters in this anime are well-developed and relatable. Yuri Katsuki's journey from self-doubt to self-discovery is heartwarming, and his dedication to improving himself is inspiring. Viktor Nikiforov is a complex character with his own vulnerabilities, adding depth to the story. The supporting cast, including fellow skaters and coaches, also contribute significantly to the narrative.

Secret Santa 2018 Review

Story- Basically in a nutshell, it's a inspirational story about getting back even though you fall or trying again even if you didn't succeed before. I gave the story a 10 it's unique and the ending is unpredictable (no spoilers hereXP).

Animation- I gave the animation a 10 because all the guys looked really hot and that's all that matters(jk:) I didn't see any CG while they were skating which is what idol anime does when they dancee around alot. The artist is very good.

Sound- To my surprise, the OP song is in english in both the dub and the sub. I also very strongly reccomend you watch this in eng dub because it includes all the native accents and stuff of the people, but in the sub it doesn't.

Characters- I gave the characters a 10 because there was a very colorful assortment (my favorite is Christoph by the way, his accent is best). They get along pretty well even though they're competing against each other. There were some pretty man-service and fujoshi bait mments that had me squeling a little( especially when they hugged and looked like they were going to kiss).

Overall, this was one of my favorite animes of all time and have my Secret Santa to thank for that! I can't wait to find out who it is tomarrow! Thank you for reading my review I would like some feedback on it, if it's not too much trouble. Happy Holidays!Stay safe!
