Both of these series seem to give a bit of a darker edge to already familiar franchises. 5D's and Tamers both introduce characters who are more calm and collected than their earlier series. For the main characters, it would seem that what they do it taboo according to those in authority over them. If you liked Digimon, you should like Yu-gi-oh and vice-verse. And if you liked Tamers or 5D's, then you should definately like the other.

Another card game anime. Though Vanguard is nowhere near as good as 5d's, its still not a bad anime to pass the time if your into this sort of thing.

If you're a fan of over the top anime and tournaments, both G Gundam and Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds are great choices. While one may focus more on giant robots and the other on card games, both carry the central message of moving forward with your spirit and that sometimes facing off and clashing with others can help the two of you understand each other better, and both are tons of fun.
