If you're looking for anime similar to your name., you might like these titles.

Shouko transfers and Shoya grows up as an outcast. Alone and depressed, the regretful Shouya finds Shouko to make amends.
Is a great love story. Also the amination is great and if liked this one of couse, plase take the time to enjoy Your Name.
Both are stories about a boy and a girl and their interactions that play on your heart strings. Couldnt reccomend both films highly enough.
Both films are highly popular, and although at first, it may seem really similar, they are actually really really different films. Which is quite the surprise seeing that if you watch one you should watch the other.
Actually, having said that, when I first started coming up with this recommendation I was listing all the possible ways it links...
The animation? No.
The story line? No.
It was the way it was told. The way that both stories were told were particularly important, the way it expressed each and every character, they timeline of the story, every bit of detail was explicitly important to the movie.
They both show a guy chasing girl, girl chases guy. Both show complications, and resolutions to those problems. Both are great films, Both Released in 2016, And Overall just 5/5 animes that deeply impact the viewers and carry you with the story and life of those characters and that world.
Both have beautiful scenery, and such gripping stories. However, "your name." has more romance, seeing as how it's a romance based movie. But definitely watch both, you'll love it!
Both are amazing films that are non-ecchi and enjoyable.
A silent voice is a bit more mature though in my opinion but they both gave me the same feeling when i finished watching them.
Both have elements of romance involved and also stick out in terms of animation. A Silent Voice is more emotionally based whereas Kimi no na Wa is more supernatural based.
both deal with internal turmoil and love. The main characters are broken but they pick up the pieces and are learning to live again, thus the tale of redemption, love and friendship is what it draws closer
They're both beautifully illustrated.
They both have a very good plot, focused around romance.
kimi no na wa was fucking beautiful and emotional and powerful as hell and even though koe isn't anything as dramatic or impactful as your name-- they both give off the same kinda vibe and art in both is gorgeous. if you understand the stories well enough it's super deep and can rlly hit close to home. it's about the little things tbh
There romantic movies that have somewhat similarities to each other like; sound, animation, date made, both movies. But you should watch Your name first before A silent voice.
The atmosphere in both filmes are extremely similar to each other. They both have such good characters, good animation, good story, a deep plot. They both are great movies
Both revolve around a girl and a boy, a few cries here and there, and will make your heart tingle and give you goosebumps!
this movie is beautiful. the art, the story... enough to make a grown man cry!
i've watched plenty of romance based anime, but this one being a film they had to fit it all in with little time for character development. i think they did a wonderful job with that. i just hope who ever watches this fulm get the same joy from it as i have.
Koe no katachi and Your name have got a great and moving love story. Also, the art is really nice in the two animes.
If you liked A Silent Voice you'd also like Kimi no Na wa because they both draw you in from the start and revolve around high-school students. You honestly won't regret it!
The twist, the at-the-edge feeling of not knowing what would happen next. Both movies show the extent one goes for love and it is wonderful.
I like this anime coz it shows how much a person trully love someone and how far they would go to achive them i would also want to recommand some anime and movies like my love story, hotarubi no mori e (movie) your lie in april ,blood + like wise.😀
They are fairly similar in story style and both very heartwarming. The main characaters in both is a male and a female and it watches their relationship over a period of time. Over all they are both very cute but A Silent Voice is more realistic than your name so it just depends on your preference. A side note their art style is similar-ish and so is Your Lie in April which is also fairly simialr. I recommend both your name and A Silent voice and Your Lie in April if you like any of them since they are all fairly similar to each other..
If you liked 'your name.' or 'A Silent Voice' you may like the other because they are both stories that will leave you with a smile. I watched 'A Silent Voice' after 'your name.' and just got a similar feeling when watching, despite them being about two very different scenarios. In both movies they really make you care about the characters and their issues. They both also do something that I don't see done very well or often, they made the characters human. What I mean, is that the characters are not at all perfect and will, in some cases, make you dislike them and that is okay because that is what makes stories like these so good.
Two people living in totally different worlds, facing their own hardships and only when life gives the harsh lesson they're able to relate to each other and fall in love. Amazing art, soundtracks, romance and step into the adulthood.
They're both beautiful and they give me the same great feeling. They both are awesome and if you like romance you'll like both
Both are amazing movies. Both started out light hearted, then there was a very sad part but they both kinda had a happy ending.
Both movies are very emotional in which people become reconnected, both fils are similar but also very different but if you like the one you will most likely like the other
both of theses files have amazing animation with great voice actors I would 100% recommend them
They are both heartwarming and are the best anime’s of 2016. This last sentence is nothing just filling in characters.
thay both have similiar graphics and they're both common in romance it has a lot i common . a silent voice is more about the life of group of friends where as your name is based on single .
Although today Tono Takaki and Shinohara Akari live far apart due to a family move shortly after elementary school, they were once two shy young students brought together by their shared differences from their peers. It is because of this that the two built a bond of closeness between them that still survives through their continued correspondence, even over such a distance. Secretly they both fear the loss of this bond over time, and for this reason they arrange a meeting between just the two of them. The journeys both of them take in their minds and in their lives create an atmosphere of intense emotional upheaval, but also a sense of peace. It is a twist of fate and a series of decisions that put the two in place to carry what they choose of their pasts into the future they will create for themselves.
After watching Kimi no Na wa i found myself recalling similar emotions after watching 5 Centimeters per second (although maybe not as heavy/depressing as 5 cent/sec) and upon closer inspection i found that its the same director and production company so understandable i suppose. Both A grade movies, heavy on emotion, high level animation, sound, story etc.
same feeling and drama even though kimi no na wa is better. both original work, same living apart situation, art is also similar
Two romance anime about people who are separated. They just had a very similar vibe, you know?
Nice animation, nice soundtrack, nice romantic storyline. Mostly in the end I got the same feeling from these movies and I was afraid that Kimi no Na wa will have the same end like 5cm/sec but fortunately not.
Your Name is basically a more plot-heavy version of 5 Centimeters per Second, yet another wonderful meditation on the nature of soulmates from Makoto Shinkai. Where 5 Cm is more of a poem, though, in its approach to storytelling, Your Name is very much more of a novel. But if the heart of Your Name is what you left the theater smiling (or tearing up) about, then 5 Cm should be right up your alley.
these both have the same kind of encounter between both male and female character'sthey hit you with feels harder than you can ever think ofand ofcourse not much of a comedy but they have some beatiful scenes that you would lovethough the script been good but the songs are even relaxing and lovablei reccomend them if you want a romatic story with a bit of a fantasy
These are easy recommendations for each other! Both have a special Shinkai blend of ideas about romance, fate, and trying to hang on to a bond through separations of time/space. Gorgeously animated, both will hit you right in the feels.
Very similar anime movies of couples seperated by great distances, both great anime movies but very sad as well!!!
Both movies have the same director, and were made by the same studio. As a result, the tone and animation is similar.
5 Centimetres per second largely relates to Your Name because they were both directed by Makoto Shinkai. This shows in the movie itself as similarities can be found throughout the feature. There are specific scenes throughout the movie that resemble scenes from Your Name in ho they were animated and even the setting of the scene itself. I personally find it very interesting to see content made by Shinkai before his great success from Your Name or Weathering with You.
if you have watched one of these you might like romance and therefore i think you will like the other one of them that you haven't seen because they are both love stories :)
Kousei Arima was a genius pianist until his mother's sudden death took away his ability to play. Each day was dull for Kousei. But, then he meets a violinist named Kaori Miyazono who has an eccentric playing style. His monotonus life was about to change forever.
Kimi no na wa is one of the best anime I watched so far. It has amazing animation and story itself. And as for me, you can basically connect it with Shigatsu wa kimi no uso (your lie in april), which is also a romance anime, the only thing that's different is how the story end because Shigatsu wa kimi no uso end with such a tragic ending. Both anime has a good animation and songs (with different artist, of course). It also focuses on the both hero and heroine's background story. It was beautiful, both of them.
it is a very musical anime about love, death, music and friendship. The main character is a boy who has lost his mum and since then; has not been able to play piano. But after meeting a violinist, his whole music carreer will change.
Both feature beautiful animation, well rounded characters, a lovely soundtrack, and overwhelmingly sad endings. I love both of these so so much and they're perfect together.
Both will make you cry and make you need to find something to fill that void since you finished the other one. If you watch one of these, the other one will fill your void.
They are both essesntially complicated coming of age romances done really well. Personally I love them both but Your Lie in April is a little bit of a rougher ride emotionally.
Both of these anime deal with coming of age, and the heart breaking, yet beautiful aspects of soul mates and unrequited love. These two are easily in my top 5 great romance anime of all time. If these two anime dont make you shed at least 1 tear, then you have a heart of stone.
They are both amazing. Animation is top notch. story is top notch. Music is top notch. Feels are there. Just watch first 30 min of both and you'll see why
Both hit u right in the feels altho your lie in april realy gets clear once u finished it and think a bit about what u saw while your name is a open story where u get the full feeling of the story while u watch it and afterwards u get another smack in the feels when u think about what u jsut saw and the lessons u an learn from it. Either way both are amazing
They are both really great and romantic. I personally like them both really much. You should definetly watch it
both are beautifully designed with heart aching love stories. There's a certain vibe to both that ONLY both have.. im not sure how to explain or elaborate but i would 100% recommend one if you liked the other.
Makoto Konno is a somewhat foolish and tomboyish high school student who spends most of her time hanging out with her two male friends. Things change one day when she suddenly gains the ability to leap through time! At first, she uses her newfound ability to do things such as preventing her sister from stealing her dessert, cheating on a test, and singing Karaoke for 10 hours. However, the small alterations she makes to the timeline turn out to have unforeseen consequences that snowball into dramatic and lethal situations for her and those around her...
From the creators of "Wolf Children" and "Summer Wars" this film is a must see. First of all I don't know why this choice isn't already up here, I mean come on these two movies have the exact same feel. "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time" a movie that's been around for a while now, leaves the same bitter sweet sentiment afterward that takes a special place in your heart forever. Both start in an ordinary relatable high school setting with these two students that are from different time periods connected by time travel. Both have their crises that lead the main characters to got to drastic time traveling lengths to save there friends and family. The only difference with "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time" is that the main character kind of creates the problem herself by using time travel irresponsibly to fix trivial things in her daily life. Be prepared because this movie is a tear jerker.
These 2 movies are both have a very beautiful story. They both have the supernatural aspect to them. The animation is rather different, but the storyline contains a lot of similarities - romance friendship, scool life, family etc. There's a good amount of humour in both, however I would definitely expect a couple of tears if you're the emotional type. Both are really good, and should be watched without hesitation.
Watching "Your Name" pretty much instantly reminded me of "The girl who leapt through time", both animes where the main charachters went through extraordinary circumstances travelling back and forth in time, both have a tragic event happen and then only one more chance to try and make it right...
Friendship and romance, comedy and drama. How can two people, that became connected in a bizzare way, fight to maintain that connection when they have just one chance remaining? The two anime give different, but similar answers. Guess you have to watch both and choose which one you prefer!
Both of these astounding movies have a mix of sci-fi, humour and romance. The plot twists and characters are so well thought out and by the end of the movie, you're left with tears running down your face, wishing that you could re-experience something like that again.
Both are stories which can teach lessons for the real world, but use supernatural and time-based methods of displaying this. I watched Your Name first and The Girl Who Lept Through Time second and enjoyed both, and although it is less likely you watched TGWLTT first, I think both are musts for anime movie fans.
It’s got similar references to up coming parts of the movie and it envolver time travel. Except for that I didnt really think this anime was as great a your name. your name was incredibly good obviously, I love how beautiful the art work is and the concept of the story it just made me feel so warm inside. It was just amazing.
The summer of his high school freshman year, Hokoda runs away from his remote island home to Tokyo, and quickly finds himself pushed to his financial and personal limits. The weather is unusually gloomy and rainy every day, as if to suggest his future. He lives his days in isolation, but finally finds work as a writer for a mysterious occult magazine. Then one day, Hokoda meets Hina on a busy street corner. This bright and strongwilled girl possesses a strange and wonderful ability: the power to stop the rain and clear the sky...
They are by the same creator and they have the same air and style in amine and the story plot. A boy, a girl falling in love and meeting each other through supernatural phenomenons. They have adventures together and uncover their futures. I recommend them to people who love wholesome short beautiful animes that make you feel the feels.
Another beautiful Shinkai movie, with a supernatural romance to warm your heart. Cannot recommend highly enough.
Both are romances with supernatural elements. Though I would say your name is even better.
Want some incredible animation? Well here it is. The best of 2d animation today comes from Shinkai.
They are both emotional movies that are easily appreciated because of their visually stunning animation.
Made by same person and look suprisingly similar to one another artistically anyway. Has romance and supernatural as part of the movie.
Your Name is filled with beautiful imagery, has a moving story and great characters,I cannot recommend this film enough.
they both will make you cry, or at least make you feel the same feeling you felt when you watched the other.
Satoru Fujinuma is a reclusive part-timer with no plans for the future. What sets him apart from the other slackers in his town is an involuntary time travel ability that allows him to jump back several seconds in time in order to prevent accidents and even deaths. As incidents around town begin reminding Satoru of a childhood trauma he'd sooner forget, he finally begins to question what caused his ability to surface and whether or not it's powerful enough to change the past.
I can see some similarities to this show at least among anime. Both involve disasters or sad tragedies caused by multiple deaths. Both involve time travel and switching bodies though in one case he switches or steps into his own past, where that conscious that was there original goes is hard to say. Both involve some form of communication to the past or past selves in order to stop the disaster/tragedy. Both stories are heavy dramas with elements of romance, tragedy, and mystery.
In both animes you have this 'time travelling- aspect'.They're both about this impossible love, sperated thorugh time.
The are both about travelling though time and space with a bit of romance. I think that if you liked Kimi no Na wa you are sure to enjoy Boku dake ga inai Machi and vice versa. Although graphics in Kimi no Na wa are truly incredible, Erased has an interesting detective storyline. I recommend both of them.
A protagonist, switches between different realities in order to change the past, save someone he cares for and prevent a tragedy. Both anime are about children, their friendships and first romances and people who don’t give up on their goals.
Both feature time travelling however the aspect of switching bodies is unique to your name. Erased follows a more mysterious route so if your looking for more mystery definitely recommend. Your name is more light hearted our of the noth and features stunning animation. Erased's OP is an absolute banger though!
The eccentric mad scientist Okabe, his childhood friend Mayuri, and the otaku hacker Daru have banded together to form the Future Gadget Research Laboratory, and spend their days in a ramshackle laboratory hanging out and occasionally attempting to invent incredible, yet generally useless, futuristic gadgets. However, their claymore is a hydrator and their hair dryer flips breakers, and the only invention that’s even remotely interesting is their Phone Microwave, which transforms bananas into oozing green gel. But when an experiment goes awry the gang discovers that the Phone Microwave can also send text messages to the past. And what's more, the words they send can affect the flow of time and have unforeseen, far-reaching consequences...
Both stories are steeped in time travel well in a manner of speaking. Both have major character struggling to prevent some kind of major disaster. Both have characters that try to communicate across time to aid in preventing disaster. Both stories are heavy on drama and story and both feature an element or more of romance.
Both of these shows have a clever story that also includes the aspect of time travel. There is also a bit of romance in each.
Great animation and story. Both anime has 2 people falling in love and experiencing a hardship, and after that they try to do everything they can to change the past
These are gripping stories of a struggle to protect those who are cherished amid cleverly disorienting circumstances.
An unnamed protagonist happens to find a diary in a hospital one day. The diary belongs to his classmate, a girl named Sakura Yamauchi, who is revealed to be suffering from a terminal illness in her pancreas, and who only has a few months left to live. Sakura explains that the protagonist is the only person apart from her family that knows about her condition. The protagonist promises to keep Sakura's secret. Despite their completely opposite personalities, the protagonist decides to be together with Sakura during her last few months.
a teenage boy and girl embark on a quest to meet each other for the first time after they magically swap bodies.
Kimi no na wa uses the whole fantasy setting to explore the grounded theme of meeting someone, and getting very close to them because of how you can be comfortable around each other, and growing to deeply care for someone. I want to eat your pancreas is another film expanding on the same theme, just replacing the fantasy with the disease. Both of them tell really amazing stories, are directed ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUSLY, and can make youth cry buckets.
Both are beautiful stories that will most likely bring you to tears. While Kimi no Na wa has more supernatural undertones both stories are enjoyable and riveting.
this is a must watch anime. If you are a anime lover then you must watch it.....................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
When Takao decides to skip school one day in favor of sketching in a rainy garden, he has no idea how much his life will change when he encounters Yukino. Older, but perhaps not as much wiser, she seems adrift in the world. Despite the difference in their ages, they strike up an unusual relationship that always occur in the same garden on each rainy day. But the rainy season is coming to a close, and there are so many things still left unsaid and undone between them.
Both movies feature a short romance and some seriously amazing animation. I got quite a similar vibe from them both as well, so if you liked one you'd probably like the other.
Main theme being the same type of Romance and since they are also related to Drama, both of these animes are very similar !
Kotonoha no Niwa and Kimi no Na wa have also been written by the same author, Makoto Shinkai, who is also the director of both movies.
Obviously since the director of both animes is the same, Animation is pretty much the same too !
Brilliant and very realistic animation, similar character design. 2 People falling in love trying to make their relationship work. Both have a nice story.
