They both have a boy as the protagonist who last 4 episodes in with the the same girl, but on the 5th, the story starts over again with a different heroine.

sebaskun sebaskun says...

Even though Amagami SS doesn't have the extreme ecchiness that Yosuga No Sora has both appear very similar in the way they are done. Both are giving about 4 episodes per heroine so the audience can expect to see all heroines "happy endings". And both have the dramatic romance you would expect from these games-made-into-anime series. In the end, both are great series that deserve to be looked.

Thrawn Thrawn says...

When I started to watch Yosuga no Sora and got about five episodes in, I thought, "this is just like Amagami SS! Only with more ecchi." Mainly due to it being separated into arcs, each centered on a specific girl.

With that said, they're both comedy/romance with Yosuga no Sora leaning more towards the drama side than Amagami SS, but the latter has it's own share of drama throughout. And as romances, both have those sappy heartwarming moments at times or moments that just make you smile.

Amagami SS feels better overall in terms of feeling between the guy and the girl, but Yosuga no Sora is still good overall.

Galadriel Galadriel says...

Both Yosuga no Sora and Amagami SS feature a male lead dating different female leads, each female lead having a certain arc (in Amagami SS, 6 arcs as for 6 girls each having 4 episodes, in YnS 4 arcs and the number of episodes alocated to each varies). Romance, drama, comedy along the way in both shows, the exception is YnS which also features an incest theme and sexual content. My guess is if you liked one you will enjoy the other one as well.

eaper eaper says...

If you want a much, much more ecchi Amagami SS, YnS is a good place to go. Both are told in the same way, having an arc then completely starting over like you're playing a visual novel. Both series have  a lot of romance and comedy. If you like Amagami and want something ecchi-er, then YnS is the place to go.

unitzero unitzero says...

Amagami SS and Yosuga no Sora are both animes based off of a dating sim/eroge games. They both share a very distinct feature, in that, after each girl's story arc the anime "resets," and we see how the story plays out focusing on a different heroine. This is a unquie new trick one does not see too often in game adaptions. Yosuga no Sora is certainly much more hentai based and is meant for mature audiences, while Amagami SS is much more light hearted and appropirate for younger viewers. That said if you enjoyed the "reset" idea featured in either one of these series you might try the other.

kincokinco kincokinco says...

If you like a good story line, and you like a somewhat stable setting that leaves you thinking. Then Yosuga no Sora or Amagami SS is the one for you. With both leading through different paths during the episodes, Amagami SS will leave you with a wonderful warm feeling at the end, and If you want alot of Ecchi with a Heart-Racing ending, Yosuga no Sora can be added to your lists.

LinkSword LinkSword says...

If you liked the omnibus format in Yosuga no Sora (guy has a relationship with one of the girls; then the story starts anew with another), try the far superior Amagami SS.

Instead of being as shallow and ''direct'' as Yosuga is, what you will get in Amagami is WAY more interesting relationships, girls, male lead and dialogues, which make for a much greater dramatic effect and also lots of fun. Also, the girls don't fall for the protagonist right off the bat 'just because' - they meet, interact and their relationship grows on a far more realistic way.

If you were in Yosuga just for the light pr0n, though, I guess you can skip this recommendation.

xxSilencexx xxSilencexx says...

Both feature arced episodes with a 'reset' which is becoming popular in recent animes. However both feel slightly weird due to the fact that they are so short, the love that develops doesn't feel right, however this is corrected in Amagami SS as it is only kissing and hugs. On the contrary Yosuga no Sora features almost lust driven relationships. But both make you feel good and the stories for the individual arcs are good.

Seitaro14 Seitaro14 says...

both stories come back to a previous step to take place in a different way, in both anime stories the protagonists are more girls in different time spaces, the only obvious difference is that in no Sora Yosuga scenes are pushed to the end of each edge which happens only once (and not so daring) in amagami ss

Otaku108 Otaku108 says...

Due to their alternative storytelling style and focus on relationships between the male lead and multiple female leads each having the same starting point and branching off in an alternate "reality" as they develop a relationship, both Yosuga no Sora and Amagami SS are very much alike in this regard. The similarities end there however, Yosuga is much more hardcore in it's graphic depiction of sex and nudity while Amagami takes a more light hearted approach. If you liked the style but not the content of Yosuga and enjoy romances then Amagami is not to be passed over.

jShota jShota says...

Both have 1 guy that has a relationship with many girls one after the other. Yosuga no Sora has a lot more ecchi. Also sora has incest that relationsip builds. Amagami SS has more of a story and a build up to a confesh. Both are nice romance animes

andrewlee andrewlee says...

Both animes are done in the same way. They are seperated into arcs that focus on an individual girl, although yosuga no sora is a lot more perverted. Yosuga no sora has a lot of adult stuf where as amagami ss is audiance friendly. Overall I think Amagami ss is more of a romance anime (better) than Yosuga no Sora which is more like a hentai.

rabind rabind says...

You probably need to watch Amagami SS before Yosuga no Sora, because the different girls=different arcs system is demonstrated better and is easier to understand. I would say Yosuga no Sora is more mature in it's content. Both feel like heram anime but they are more closer to parallel worlds or choose your own ending types of animes. Both involve the protagoinst being surrounded by different girls he can persue which leads to different endings.

Garindo Garindo says...

The stories are built up in pretty much the same way, they both have an arc for every girl, 4 episodes long in Amagami SS, shorter in Yosuga no Sora. Yosuga no Sora has a lot more Ecchi though, it's a borderline hentai. Amagami is more like the average harem anime. Also, both series are based off a visual novel.

zetazach zetazach says...

Both animes revolve around a male protagonist's finding love. Also, both animes have the same "arc" style ( 2-4 episodes dedicated to each individual girl or different scenarios).

While Amagami is more about the romance, Yosuga no Sora has a balance between the explicit content and the romance.

What's the limit a non-hentai show can reach in regard to excessive visual sex depiction? Aki Sora and Yosuga no Sora exploit these limits involving at the same time some highly questionable themes like incest.

xxSilencexx xxSilencexx says...

INCEST, SEX and PERVERSION. The three things that make this recommendation easy, the story of Yosuga makes it interesting to watch and develops well, contrasted to the abruptness of Aki Sora. My biggest problem with both is that the love is sudden and abrupt which makes it seem more like lust rather than true love. Watch Yosuga if you want more story, watch Aki Sora if you want more 'love.'

Nicknames Nicknames says...

Both are borderline hentai anime that shares the same main theme (a forbidden love between siblings). Yosuga no Sora has a slightly better developed plot since it's longer, but if you liked one you'll like the other.

vernanonix vernanonix says...

You want sex? We got sex here. Putting teenagers in the throws of passion is what these two anime do. Both can be somewhat explicit at times, with Aki Sora being much more so, so if that's your thing, go for it. While Aki Sora is mostly about the sexual relationship, though, Yosuga no Sora delves deeper into the lives of the majority of the cast. These two are immediately compareable.

zetazach zetazach says...

Both animes are about the forbidden tree of love and the fruit it bears. Both series have glorius ecchi scenes; which, is almost hentai. While Aki Sora focuses on the love of those two, Yosuga no Sora is split into arcs due to the amount of girls involved; which, his sister is apart of.

Yosuga No Sora:Tragically orphaned by an automobile accident, the Kasugano twins travel to their grandparents' countryside residence via railcar, hoping to reconstruct the shards of a shattered life. Two lonely souls so physically alike, yet spiritually divergent, they are unaware of the challenges these conflicting expectations will unveil in the days to come. Uncertain of the future, Haruka Kasugano clings to memories of the past, hoping to find the strength he needs to protect his ailing sister. As the story develops, it tells four stories, each with one girl; rich but kind, polite but sad, depressed but hopeful, and petite but fierce.

It is 12 episodes (x20) and I truly suggest it, because it's my favorite anime! ♥

Also if you have parents at home which can look at your computer anytime, make sure to hide any evidence and keep your eyes open. Why? Because Yosuga no sora isn't just the emotional thing it seems it is...It has a lot of nudes and a lot of sex. But it's incredible still.

Watch it. I suggest and approve.

Jealousy, Lust and Immaturity feature heavily in both animes. The characters loves feels jilted and in many ways wrong (with the except of a few pairings) which bring down both, they seem more like reflection of the barbaric half of society driven through lust. These are both trashy romantic comedies that are heavy on melodrama, light on comedy and have offensively stupid fanserice. Both have a large dose of incest as a major plot point, both have a lot of nudity, although the nudity in My Sister is Unusual is censored in the TV release.

The plots of these anime are quite different. Sora is doesn't have anything supernatural going on, instead it's just the drama that ensures when a brother takes turns romancing and eventually having sex with a group a girls that includes his sister. The anime is made up of seperate arcs where he romances a different girl each time. In Recently My Sister is Unusal, there's a girl that's been cursed by a ghost to wear a chastity belt until she can make her step brother fall in love and eventually have sex with her all for the sake of the ghost being able to move onto the after life. However, the plots in both anime are just an excuse for the fanservice and nudity with romance and story really being secondary.

If you're looking for some heavy ecchi that borders on hentai then these anime are for you. Just be warned that My Sister is Unusual has a weird fascination with urine.
