Yona of the Dawn - Reviews

Yona of the Dawn follows the story of Yona, a princess who was chased out of her castle after her father’s murder. She goes in an adventure to meet the four dragons that will help her in her mission to regain control of her kingdom. The story is good but it reminded me a lot of Avatar. They have the four nations/districts based on the four elements and the time frame seems that of the feudal era that is typical in anime of this type. Although the story itself is not very original, it was developed in such a way that it caught my interest from the very first episode. I will probably read the manga next as I am curious of what happened but I will not be surprised if a second season is soon to be released.

The animation was magnificent. The character’s design was very good as well as that of the setting.  I particularly loved the eyes of Yona when she was motivated and assertive. I must say the animation is definitely a strong point for this anime. The music themes were very good, but I disliked the second opening theme somewhat.

The characters were amazing! I fell in love with all of the main characters and did not hate not even one. They were so well developed that you could not help but connect with them. I suppose some of the background stories for some of the characters are yet to be explored but it’s obvious that the piece is there. It helps that this anime also has some “comedy” moments that lighten the mood when needed.

All in all, I think this anime is a master piece and deserved a very high score. It has a nice story that can be very promising along with unique characters. I highly recommend it to others.

I love this anime!!!!!! I love it so much, I've been watching anime since I was 6 years old, and this is a great anime for 6 years, and this one of the best anime's in its catagorie.  The plot is pretty good, although these types of anime's do appeal to certain audiences.  I love reverse harem anime's ( don't really like harem though) and have watched a lot of them, and this anime is definitely up there.  The graphics are pretty well done to, I love the 90s anime's but these graphics are definitely better.  Its definitely for a female demographic, but it isn't something you can't stand watching with your sister, like kimi no tokode.  The voice acting is very well done and not annoying like some voice actors are.  My only complaint is that Zeno introduction was very rushed, it was also quite rushed in the manga, but you at least got a full chapter on Zeno.  Over all I love this anime and hope it gets renewed, but if not I will have no problems watching it again.

One of the best anime I've ever watched! I love characters developments and story. I think that the best part of this anime is that we don't know how is anime going to end because we don't know is 'bad guy' really bad or he's got some very good reasons for doing things the way he does. And that is what makes this anime so intense because we don't know who is going to make it till the end. There are lot of space for new situations and character stories so I hope there will be more chapters :)

I was really sad when anime ended but I'm reading manga now and I'm enjoy it! 

this anime is lit!!!! the sound, the characters, the plot were made perfectly! each and every character developed greatly! i've rewatched it for several times and never get bored, im really hoping for another season, its so sad that a hidden gem like this cant even get their second season. and if you guys wondering what happened after the dragons, yona, hak, yun unite, you guys should read the manga! its really good and there are many stories you will discover!

As many have said, the plot was pretty simplistic, but I don't always feel the need for overly complicated shows.  The characters were likeable, and it flowed well.  The ending was a bit anti-climactic, but that is not unusual with anime.  They left themselves an in for possible future episodes, but unfortunately did not do so.  Maybe someday...   Overall I liked it.
