Give Kokoro Connect a try if you enjoy Yamada-kun to 7-nin no Majo so far. Both series focuses on high school students involved in a school club. Body swapping is one of the center points of Kokoro Connect unlike Yamada with all other supernatural phenomenons. However, like Yamada, both series provide endless entertainment.

tootalls tootalls says...

They Both open their series with a body waping concept. If that draws you in, you'll find Kokoro Connect has much more to offer than just a gimmick.

Syberg Syberg says...

One would say that both of these animes are the same, just with different set ups. Lot's of magic, love and comedy!

Crizy Crizy says...

Both animes are very similar especially their main genres which are for both Kokoro Connect and Yamada-kun to 7-nin no Majo Body Swapping, Supernatural, Romance and Comedy.

BUT even though both stories have similarities it DOESN'T apply much to the characters since they are pretty much different. Which means that if you've been watching one of those animes again and again mostly because of the characters, I wouldn't recommend you more this anime than another one.

But who knows ? Maybe give it try. You might like it ;)

(Notice this review also applies for both mangas even if the similarities are slightly less present)

Angel88 Angel88 says...

I think the recommendation goes both ways because there are magical powers involved and in both anime’s there is body swapping and romance.

Nemurin238 Nemurin238 says...

I recommend this anime if you Yamada Kun and the Seven Witches. They are both kinda similar since they are both in clubs and experience some supernatural stuff. If you like stuff to do with body swap. I recommend this anime but just so you know. In Kokoro Connect, the body only happens in a few episodes.

Ryuga10 Ryuga10 says...

both are slice of life with a supernatural touch to it, underrated both of them (kokoro barely gets any traction at all) great over all, slow paced and just chill watching

Both series start with protagonists whom seem to have ability of body swap, but later discover that their real ability is (SPOILER) ability replication.

The student council also plays the major part in both series.

minoriakabe minoriakabe says...

WARNING!!! Contains Spoiler!

Both anime are talking about two male characters who have a unique power. Both Highschools that they are in also have other kids who have super powers. In Charlotte, Otasaka Yuu could go into somebody else's body and actually take that peron's power if he/she posses one, by just looking at them. He's the only one who posses this skill and then uses it to take every single one power that humans posses in the world to save them. In Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches, Yamada Ryuu also have a unique power. He accidently learns about it when he falls from the school's staircase with another girl who turns out to be one of the "witches" in their school. His power is to copy a witches spell. In short, instead of a witch putting a "spell" on him, he puts her spell on herself. One day he uses this skill to let all the witches free of their own powers.

I beleive that in one way or another, these animes are almost the same! ^_^

sunnysuraj sunnysuraj says...

They both have these themes of superpowered people hiding in society, whether by their own ignorance or intentionally. Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches has a plot led a little more by its romantic subplot, whereas Charlotte focuses on the powered invidivuals a bit more.

So both of these involve a teen boy getting dragged into a fantasy-like world which involves kissing some girls. Yamada has to kiss people for certain reasons that are explained in the anime and then Shido kisses the spirit girls to lock away their spirit powers. So in a way they are quite similar, both are about one boy and a group of girls pretty much with some supporting characters here and there. They are both heavily comedy with some romance. So I think if you enjoyed one you should like the other.

Both follow a male teenager who one day comes across a bunch of witches at his school and gets his life plunged into complete chaos because of it. Both are mainly comedies although Witch Craft Works is more action oriented.

Both shows are about clubs with an interest in "supernatural research" that leads to unexpected friendships and unusual events. Both have a similar energy level with similar plot flow: fast-moving, somewhat self-contained episodes that rise to develop a bigger climax.

HKBattosai HKBattosai says...

If you liked Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches or The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, then you'll probably like the other because both feature school clubs filled with an array of personalities that are supposedly interested in the study of supernatural phenomena and occurrences. When both groups dive deeper into these studies, they reveal unexpected events that lead to a greater overall story arc.

Firstly - Both of these anime series are weird school adventures of boy who meets  many girls who are too unusual for our world.  He gets to know about these girl's real personalities that were hidden by them for a long time. For this reason he totally changes their lifes. By the time the are also fall in love with main character. Secondly - It's better to know as less as you can before you watch both of this animes. Particulary about female-characters. Seriously. As less you know as more you laugh while wathing. ;-)

Haganai: I Don't Have Many Friends

Haganai: I Don't Have Many Friends

Kodaka is a delinquent. At least, that’s what his fellow classmates seem to think. Thanks to his naturally-blonde hair and an unfortunate series of misunderstandings, the boy can’t seem to shake his false reputation and hasn’t made a single friend. That is, until one day he overhears the normally-aloof Yozora enthusiastically chatting with an imaginary friend, and discovers that she’s just as lonely as he is! In an attempt to finally meet people the duo decides to form the “Neighbors Club”, and are soon joined by a number of other fellow misfits such as Sena, the busty, popular daughter of the school president who can’t seem to connect with others. Together, the gang learns about the joys of friendship through many misadventures such as playing RPGs, visiting the swimming pool or even hunting down delicious takoyaki!

DevillAngel DevillAngel says...

Both the main characters are misunderstood to be delinquients when they are really just nice guys. As a result they have no friends. After running into a girl both guys end up in clubs where they begin to connect with others. Both shows are centered around individuals that did not really fit in forming friendships with eachother. Hagnai has alot more fanservice & ecchi scenes and is a complete harem, while Yamada has more of a plot with characters of both sexes being prominently featured. Both include the formation of friendships, a good deal of comedy and a slice of romance, so if you like one check the other out.

If you like Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches or Emma: A Victorian Romance then you might like the other one based on the the two main characters from each series. You cannot help but root for them to find each other (romantically); Ryuu and Urara in Yamadu-kun and William and Emma in Emma. The developing feelings that each have for one another as the series progresses, and the tribulations that each must endure on their journey to the one they love is utterly heart-touching and nerve-racking.
