Dusk Maiden is darker than Yamada-kun but both circle around a club which is interested in supernatural events at their school while also being at the center of most of those events. Each has some romance and comedy without being cheesy.
both of these are hillarious, somewhat ecchi-heavy school life anime, featuring romance and some supernatural elements, that are about members of a club attempting to solve a mystery.
At Yamaboshi High, joining a school club is required, so when Himeko, Iori, Taichi, Yoshifumi and Yui couldn't find a suitable choice, they decided to create their own: the School Culture Club! Together, they pass the days meeting and coming up with topics for the group's newspaper – that is, until one day, Yoshifumi and Yui proclaim that they switched bodies last night! Soon after, all five members of the gang find themselves inadvertently swapping at random, with no end in sight. What, or who, caused this supernatural phenomenon?

Both shows start with a problem of switching bodies and later move on to other supernatural issues centered around the club the main characters are in. The body swapping allows for the characters to understand eachother better. Kokoro is darker and the body swapping is not under the characters control. The club the main characters are in is not for supernatural events and the characters are already friends. Yamada-kun is a bit lighter and the club forms because of the body swapping which is under the characters control....mostly. I think what makes these two animes most similar is not just the body swapping but the fact that the characters, by body swapping and other things, learn about each others problems which leads them to help each other and solve those problems.
After taking a nap, Mirai is thirsty and Gekkou refuses to buy her a drink. She notices a strange looking potion on the table and chugs it despite Yuuichi previously telling her not to touch it. The potion causes the person who consumed it to swap souls (thus switching bodies) with anyone he or she comes in contact with. The main cast spend the day inadvertently swapping bodies due to Mirai's carelessness.
A Yankee-kun to Megane-chan and Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches crossover special.
