When Marnie Was There - Reviews

This was such a cute movie with a bit of a mystery to it. I loved slowly getting to know the characters, the settings were gorgeous, and the mystery kept me nervous of what was going to happen, and if there would be a happy ending.

Anna was a great main character, and Marnie was a ton of fun whenever she was on the screen. I really enjoyed some of the supporting cast as well. I loved how slowly the story unfolded while never seeming to drag. It was the right amount of pacing.

The ending is perfect, with everything coming together in such a perfect way, and it makes me want to watch the movie all over again, to see the friendship between Anna and Marnie in that light (staying vague to avoid spoilers).

I do have one complaint, and that is Anna's asthma. Going to the country definitely helps with that, but she was only there for the summer, and so she's going to start having problems again once she's back in the city...

Still, it was a great movie, and it's one I plan on buying when I have some spare money.

I loved When Marnie Was There. I loved it so much, this film was so fantastically written, so fantastically animated and it was a joy to experience. I loved the characters, the story line was great and engaging the mood is set perfectly. The characters are designed brilliantly, it’s just an all round excellent film and it doesn’t appear that too much has been lost in translation between Britain and Japan.

If this is to be the final film from Studio Ghibli, they are going out on a high because this film was excellent and really should have won the Oscar for Best Animated Film. I liked Inside Out but for goodness sake, this film was way better. This is just a lovely movie, I cannot recommend it enough if it is playing in your area and it doesn’t matter which format you see it in because the dub cast do an excellent job with their performances and I am certain the Japanese cast do an excellent job too from what I have heard. It’s up there with the best Studio Ghibli movies, like Spirited Away, Howl’s Moving Castle, The Wind Rises and many others. It really deserves to be in with them.

When I left the cinema I was both happy and sad because I knew this was the last time I got to see a new Studio Ghibli film in the cinema and while I am glad to have seen a great movie, I am sad to see this studio go because I know there will probably never be a collective group of creators like them in my lifetime.

Story: Just out of this world a masterpiece, the story and the sadness you get out of this makes for one of the greatest animes in all time must see nnnooowwwwww

Animation: The best of the best no buddy can come close to what this show has to give out just so eye poping and oooooo aaaahhhhhh everytime 

Sound: Better then anything I have heard in my life not even real life is like this *(Just joking hear)* But really you need to hear this

Characters: So when I saw the main Character I was like idk and same with the Characters and cast, But when I got to read more about it and saw the preview it got me in the story right a way

Great Movie, very heart warming and relaxing, it plays with your emotions a lot and you are always wondering what will happen next, this has to be one of my favourts so far. <3

I watched this movie with my sister and I cried multiple times throughout the movie. The plot was very interesting and the characters were very interesting as well! I truly loved this film!
