Both Initial D and Wangan Midnight are amazing in their own ways. You will be amazed at watching these two stories and seeing how both main characters surpass all limitations and become kings. The amazing cinematics make your heart race as the characters pull out near impossible feats to win. If you're an avid fan of the blacktop, you won't want to miss these.

If you like wangan midnight, then you would love Initial D. Both series have awesome cars, awesome music, and defenitely awesome action. If you love cars and music with action packed scenes, then Wangan Midnight and Initial D are your animes.

Both protagonist start from nothing and work their way to be racing kings. Wangan Midnight is clearly animated to look exactly like Initial D. Only difference between the shows are; Wangan takes place in highways whereas Initial D is about hillroads and Wangan is more about tuning than improving one's driving skills to reach max speed.

If there's one word that'd describe both anime that'd be intense. Not only they share the same genre and are about a teenager who likes racing but they have the same feeling, and you can't help but feel excited everytime you watch them. Of course there are some differences, like Wangan Midnight being more focused in tuning and racing in highways while Initial D is centered in improving their own skills and racing in mountain passes, but if you liked one you'd enjoy the other anyway.

Both are very similar. The big difference is that Initial D is about driver's skill and technique but in Wangan it's about the car itself and how good it's tuned.
Needless to say Initial D is more exciting and better. If you liked one you will enjoy the other, ideally it would be better if you watched Wangan first instead of Inital D though.

if you like cars, then those are for you, there is some difference in shows, one plot is in highway and another doing races up/down hill,but still it is about car racing and tuning so you will enjoy both shows.

While both have completely different premises and stories,they both represent car culture in their own respective way very well (Wangan Midnight focusing on highway battles,and Initial D on mountain pass fights aka Touge) and are entertaining for the people who enjoy car culture and would like to watch racing where other sources of media failed to entertain.

Both series deal with car racing and how it affects the Mc's life. A considerable amount of time is spent on tuning their cars and refining their skills. If you liked one of them, you most probably will like the other one.

Mako and Sayuki make up the well known street racing team from Usui known as Impact Blue. Mako does the driving and Sayuki tells her what moves to make. After the Myougi Night Kids have been defeated by the powerful Emperors team, consisting of only Lan-EVOs, word spreads fast. Since Myougi and Usui are neighbouring cities, Shingo of the Night Kids, a childhood friend of Sayuki, comes to warn them about the power of these cars. Like Wangan Midnight, eX-D revolves around fast cars. Neither of them have a terribly engaging story, but both of them have amazingly animated driving sequences. I strongly recommend seeing the other if you liked one. Wangan Midnight's CG animation may serve as a mild turn-off for some, but it's still quite good on the whole.
