Both anime feature idols who just about come from nowhere, who work hard to get popular. They both feature a group of girls who look up to a more famous group and they both aim for a certain concert as such. Love Live was more based around the school that the girls go to and how they develop throughout their school live whereas the Wake Up, Girls! Movie is about the agency developing. However even if this is the case the basic story is very similar. And I believe if you liked one you should like the other.
Everybody knows it's tough being an idol, especially the girls at 765 Production. Made up of thirteen young ladies, the group constantly attempts to improve its image by taking new promo shots and booking the best gigs possible, whether it's being a concert star or a quirky cooking show guest. Led by the kind-hearted and determined Producer, these talented performers such as twins Mami and Ami, quiet Yukiho, clumsy Haruka and gifted singer Chihaya will do their best to become the best idols around.

To keep it simple, both are idol programs about a group of girls who work hard aim to become the best idol's overall in the movie/series. The story is pretty different but if you liked the idea of female idols who work in multiple jobs to get noticed and aim for high goals then either of these things are pretty good. The whole drama in being an idol runs through both of these things and they work on developing bonds between the idols. Obviously the Wake up Girls Movie is more of an introduction to the main series but even still they are both quite good, if you liked one you should like the other.
