Voltage Fighter Gowcaizer and Iczer Gal Iczelion are both series that contain high school students that inexplicably gain special abilities (seriously, why were these folk chosen) and are thrust into a battle for tha fate of the world.

In the span of a handful of episodes, our heros must come to terms with their abilities, uncover their inner strength and save the world. If you enjoyed one of these short series, you will probably enjoy the other.

Voltage Fighter Gowcaizer and Dangaizer 3 are both short series where the premise is that the earth was nearly destroyed in the past, and now a group of students who find themselves with the ability to transform and use special abilities must band together to save the world once again.

Both series end up with a hurried pace due to their shortness. If you enjoyed one, I think you will like the other.

This might seem like an odd recommendation. Voltage Fighter is a violent 90s anime whereas Blazblue is most bloodless. However, both of these anime have unique character designs and are mostly about the characters fighting. The plots of these anime are quite different but they are convoluted that the plots hardly matter it's all about unique looking characters fighting each other.

Voltage is more violent and bloody, and it's animation is okayish for the 90s. BlazBlue has more modern animation, but it's also pretty shoddy looking. However, if you want some action with uniquely designed character then you should check out both these anime.

Battle Royal High School

Battle Royal High School

Hyoudo is a ‘typical' high school boy who carries out his martial arts battles wearing a jaguar mask. However, there's more to Hyoudo than meets the eye - he's also the counterpart to a Demon Master named Byoudo from the dark realm, and soon comes to be possessed by the evil force! As if that isn't strange enough, there's also an evil Fairy Master whose goal is to spread her nests of bloodthirsty offspring, a pair of space time continuum enforcers, a sword-slinging demon hunter and tentacle monsters galore. Will the Demon Master Byoudo or Fairy Master succeed in taking over Earth, or can they be stopped?

ZetsubouKaiji ZetsubouKaiji says...

These are both anime that are supposed to focus on students fighting but instead get lost in their silly mystical plot to bring in monsters with tons of blood and gore. Both anime focus on high school students that want to be the best at fighting until they get caught up in events that give them power beyond what they could imagine.

Both these anime are all about the action. The fights are surprisingly well animated with tons of gore. Both anime have enough violence to satisfy even the most blood thirsty anime fan.

If you're looking for anime is that heavy on action, light on plot, with just a dash of nudity then these are the titles for you.
