This anime both 1000% and 2000% have been in my number one slot since forever. I fell in love with it the moment it came out and hadn't wanted to share it with anyone even with my apprentice anime lover that i got really into anime back when we were little X3. She barely found out and watched it this year after i got over my selfishness and recommended it to her. We even went and claimed characters XD but we'd been doing that for a while now ;)
This anime is amazing and a def must watch for all those girls out there with hot guys and they'll definatley catch your attention with their songs and the ending X3 I swear its the only anime i ever get an actual nosebleed on like the anime fan girls. Check it out you guys!!!
Overall: 2,000%. Because this anime is above two digits, yo.
They should really make a live action, featuring the voice actors/actresses as their set character, and sing. But that would put all the animation and hard work down the drain. I'll be blunt, people. This is the first time that ONE SONG has made me so happy I could cry. If these people were an actual band;
WHERE'S DA TICKETS?! I'M GOING TO JAPAN TO SEE STARISH, BABY!!
I will give every rating an explanation.
The storyline. Dude, the storyline...I've never been so touched. Lemme tell ya, it's a rare thing for me to write reviews. So rare, this is my first one! And I'll be throughough. And blunt.
The first season, every character had their reason for entering Saotome Academy. They wern't together. As a matter of fact, the guys were like lost puppies. I thought it was heartbreaking, yet such a good thing Nanami did; summoning all of them to the music room. She had fallen for each of their voices. I understand her; she couldn't choose one. No, she wasn't capable of choosing one singer because she noticed first thing-that no 'one voice' of theirs could be complete without the others, singing her songs. I thought it was cute they showed their own versions of jealousy when she didn't pick one of them. In the end, the guys had united as STARISH. I was right in feeling as if she missed something in her compositions.
The second season, oh how can I say this.. They had stayed together as a-I daresay-family, with the cute weirdo addition, Cecil. His hydrophobia is funny. When they had went on a camping trip, I had noticed, Nanami was growing distant. I admire her will to be in pain alone, but at the same time I find her to be a coward. I thought it was touching she had finally found the meaning of what song she needed to write in the Uta Prince Award during their little Fireworks Show. And had finally found the 'A' in STARISH.
The animation. The casual scenes were alright, but what I'm rating, is the stage scenes. Those were *overly dramatic* awesome. I was sure to be a good fan and pay attention to every detail.
The sound. Their voices. The first Magi Love was perfect, but all in all, it is the tiniest microbit in the whole universe compared to the second one. Okay, maybe I'm being a little too dramatic..but that song had made my heart swell with happiness. So much that I had cried in the middle of the damn song. It's cursed, I tell ya! Take my advice, yo;
For every song you hear, listen with your heart, not only your ears.
Then you can understand how the singer(s) felt at that very moment they sang their hearts out.
The characters. Thier roles and daily lives weren't as realistic as the characters in the anime NANA, but they played them decently. They made up for it with their songs.
If I were to review every detail, this would take like a hundred years. xD
