Seventeen years ago, Takafumi’s uncle fell into a coma, but now he’s back like a man risen from his grave. Soon, Takafumi discovers two bizarre things: His uncle treasures video games above all else, and, while comatose, he was actually transported to another world as some heroic guardian! Now, not only does Takafumi have to room with an uncle who is literally magical, he also has to catch the guy up on two decades of history — smartphones, high-speed internet, modern anime tropes… and the traumatic outcome of the ’90s console war!

It's far better than the score would suggests, it should be at around 4,2 by relativity. It delivers on comedy, and while not taking itself too seriously the writing is far more clever than your average 3.8 isekai. Fun watch overall
this review is written after viewing the first 7 episopdes i rarely watch anime these days unlike the time i started anime for the first. I have caught the bug of dropping series within the first 2-3 episodes if i find it boring. Infact this is my first review review in ages ( this series is that good) i picked this anime after watching some reels of it from insta. O boy. I thank insta for their shitty algorithm that i was able to come across this hidden comedy gem. Also great work by Netflix. The last time found i had such a fun time (comedy genre) was with Grand Blue and OPM(the manga is great as well) Its a very rare take on the isekai genre with the mc being transported to the magical world and back to earth again. The mc also retains his powers. A 35 year old guy, who lives his life completely based on SEGA games of the 90s. Due to his face he was always hunted and looked down upon in both the worlds. He tells his tales of his time in the magical world to his nephew and his friend, through a magical screen. The comedic timing, the art style, the misunderstandings, the details on their face animation. the switch between the real and magical world is sublime. In the comedic genre i have to say it is one of the best shows Worth ur time!
An interesting premise at the start but it devolved into generic stuff rather quickly. The only difference was that we were basically watching a recap. The characters were one note and things got repetitive. I would have preferred if we just had the main character get adjusted to life back in his home country rather than just him reliving his past in another world with a couple of audience surrogates. That concept, if realized, would have been new. As it stands, this is just an isekai harem with a bit of a twist albeit with a 'unique' or perhaps insane main character. There really is zero character development and there really isn't any chemistry either. There are too many forced lewd scenarios to be funny or entertaining. If they just want to tell the story of Uncle in another world, doing it in a recap manner is just kind of annoying, a proper isekai setting would have been better. To summarize, the show starts off intriguing enough and there are funny moments but the jokes and scenarios lose their value the more times they are repeated. Still better than most isekai shows so consider this a recommendation if that's your cup of tea.
