Maybe the Japanese love Robin Williams cause essentially, Jun'ichiro is Robin Williams any time he played a teacher in a movie but most probably directly related to "Dead Poets Society".  Another source peraps is Richard Mulligan in "Teachers".  Either way, both cases are great if not extreme examples of childish hearted teachers who essentially act more juvenille then the students they teach but do it in such a rivoting way that their lessons take hold so those teachers end up proving they have stellar skills despite having the minds of children younger than their students.  Otaku Teacher is the same kind of story/character.  No matter the source or inspiration, this version of that old story is done quite well if not equally amusing.  Jun'ichiro is lazy, juvenille, uninspired, and often gets in to as much or more deliquent trouble as his worst students.  On running gag is how often student, Makina, ends up disciplining the teacher for his childish behavior.  Makina acts almost like his more mature and responsible babysitter and works to keep him more or less in line.   You might also have the feeling she might have a thing for him as he seems to be on her mind more than anyone else or at least under her swinging stick of discipline.  She is the only student clearly stated to be of adult age and she is not actually his student as she is either an older student or just in a different class.  So the vague suggestions that there might be a potential thing in the future for them is well establishd there.  Jun'ichiro himself is barely older than his senior students.  One comical running gag other than Makina, his sister Suzune spends nearly as much time whipping her irresponsible older brother into shape but from the first episode you may end up  believing she is actually the much older, working, and far more responsible sister.  This creates a sense of famiiarity or perhaps a subtle passing of the baton for Makina.  There are other vague though more inappropriate subtle suggestions of potential romantic interest in Madoka, Koyami, Kiriko, and Kanen.  None of them get enough screen time to create a very strong "romance interest" image though.  Koyami being the most appropriate as she is is boss and it is implied she is of the same age or perhaps older than Jun'ichiro though she often wears school girl uniforms herself and has a youthful appearance.

I would not quite say the story truly falls into the 'harem' subgenre though as stated there are vague sublte suggestions of interest at least on the girl's part far more than anything he hints at, which is actually nothing.  Jun'ichiro never shows a romantic interest in any character and the only time other than as a teacher he shows extra interest is if the person has some similar 'otaku' like hobbies as he does.  The story plays with the taboo idea of an inappropriate student/teacher romance but never actually dives into it.

Animation emotional displays are slightly above average.  There are some moments of using dog faces and some near there frog face characters.  Art and animation wise it is slightly above average but not by a great deal as even the occasional though above average expressions are not there often enough to make any substantial point increase.

The dub for the most part fits the characters pretty well though the chipmunk voiced Madoka might be a pain for some ears to have to listen to.  Not that I personally am prejudiced myself against any voice or even really high ones, but ones like that of Madoka's just sounds fake to me.  It is sort of the same way falsetto is not a true or natural voice unless perhaps you are extremely skilled and flexible at using it or you have depended on it so much it becomes more natural.

Characters are varied and Jun'ichiro is more or less the strongest and most unique.  Most of the rest though quite exceptional either fall into a template type persona or barely beyond one.  For example, Kanen is obsessed with cute to a degree but her love of it never takes completely over or character til it becomes a true stereotype or characature.  Koyami is slated as a main character on this site yet you see her so rarely compared to other characters that really does not reflect such a status.

It is an entertaining show overall with an engaging dramatic story sporting infrequent moments of humor and slice of life morality lessons without sliding in to a preachy feel.  Jun'ichiro is so gifted at unconventional methods and use of his skills that when combined overall, he almost seems to have magic powers or super powers.

Starting with the story: Its about a genius who only like to do what he really yearns to do. He is also a Nerd/otaku who likes anime, manga and gaming.

There is no real story- line. Its sequential, but that its about it, though they keep introducing more characters about every episode.

Most episodes follow the same routine,Juichiro meets a student, and helps him overcome his/her problem. Then the lecture is over. Its very repetitive, only the last 4 episodes have a nice buildup and ending.

There are also many references to the otaku culture, like MMORPG game, Power Rangers and more. I didn't find it entertaining, however there is some good comedy. I didn't see most of it coming, thats a plus.

The animation can be quirky at times, its ok, but not high quality.Movements are also not very detailed, and cars can switch from 3D to 2D.

Sound is alright i guess, but i didn't pay much attention to it. I didnt like the opening and ending songs. But that may be a personal preference.

Characters lack originality, they exploit the same reaction multiple times, so it gets predictable.
There is not much background.

Overall this is a very average series, If you completed your backlog or really like a series about an otaku, i can recommend this. Otherwise, there are many better series out there.

Denpa kyoushi is the kind of anime that gets worse with every episode, the plot begins very promising, u got this otaku genius who is forced by his sister to be a teacher after being a neet , and with the first ep u see his unique ways of dealing with the students problems you'll become attached and got your hopes up, it even reminded me of Great teacher Onizuka, but then with each episode you come to be bothered by numerous of things see first of all the animation is really bad, i think it's one of the few bad animation i've seen for A-1, and the sound doesn't really match the character's mouth movement, sometimes the mouth isn't even moving, but yet with a decent plot this sometimes can be tolerated but what adds to this is that the plot doesn't seem to proceed, the characters he saves don't really have that much scenes anymore and what's more the ideas this work is projecting are wrong, being it :

  1. Nullifying rules and encouraging behaviors that aren't appropriate for the age range that this anime targets
  2. Ignoring what's right and wrong in the society, which was apperant in koutaro's issue, rather than handing his cross-drossing issue the anime handled it as the right thing and accepting it is the wrong

I myself thought of dropping it around ep 11 bcs i saw that the plot wasn't proceeding and the MC wasn't devoloping in the slightest , which is something i expect in a 24 eps anime, but i decided to continue anyway to see what'll turn up and if anything will be changed in the other half of the story but almost nothing can be mentioned, i think the only character development for the protagonist was in the last ep when he decided to leave the making of ```any where door``` and go back to being a teacher

"Ultimate Otaku Teacher" - A Lighthearted Look at the World of Otaku

Story (6/10): "Ultimate Otaku Teacher" follows the story of Junichiro Kagami, an eccentric and brilliant otaku who becomes a high school teacher. The series explores themes of unconventional teaching methods, personal growth, and the passion of otaku culture. While the show has its share of episodic comedy and entertaining moments, it tends to rely on a formulaic structure with some repetitive elements. The overarching story takes a back seat to the character-driven comedy, which may leave some viewers wanting more substantial plot development.

Animation (6/10): The animation quality in "Ultimate Otaku Teacher" is serviceable but not particularly exceptional. The character designs are relatively simple, and the animation budget is evident in certain action sequences or dramatic moments. The series does a decent job of bringing otaku culture and references to life visually, which adds to its charm.

Sound (6/10): The soundtrack of "Ultimate Otaku Teacher" complements the series' comedic tone. It features a mix of energetic and quirky tunes that match the humorous situations and character interactions. While the music is enjoyable within the context of the show, it may not be the most memorable or iconic.

Characters (6/10): The characters are a highlight of the series, with Junichiro Kagami at the center. His eccentric personality, unorthodox teaching methods, and deep passion for otaku interests make him an engaging protagonist. The students in his class each have distinct personalities and quirks, and their interactions with Kagami drive much of the comedy. However, some character development is limited, and certain characters may feel underutilized.

Overall (5/10): "Ultimate Otaku Teacher" is a lighthearted and fun series that celebrates otaku culture while delivering humor and heartwarming moments. While it may not offer a complex or deeply engaging narrative, it succeeds in delivering laughs and celebrating the uniqueness of its characters. It's a suitable watch for fans of comedy and otaku-themed anime, but those seeking a more substantial plot may find it lacking.

Positive

Now unfortunately I don’t have a lot of positive things to say about this anime because it turned out a lot different than I thought it would.

*I, however, do have to give credit to this anime for touching some controversial social topics. DK tackles topics like bullying, gangs, family issues and even what we can call transgenderness. I haven’t seen many or any anime that tackled these topics as DK did.

*And the main theme of this anime which is to pursue your dreams no matter what was a nice foundation for the anime. Because pursuing your dreams is about the most important thing in life, if you don’t follow and pursue you dreams that what are you doing? It’s a concept that I implemented in my life hell it’s the reason why I started this channel because I want to do as many things as possible so it was a very nice main topic for DK.

Negative

Unfortunately the negative things overshadowed the main topic because I had quite a lot of them.

*First of them being that the main story was completely not what I expected. I thought that DK would resolve around Kagami being a teacher and that the anime would focus on him regaining his interests for physics. Yes I expected that he would encounter students and solve their problems but the whole teacher aspect was completely lost.

The only time we get to see some physics was in the last episodes where get to see his search for the god particle or the Higgs-Boson as its real name is. That was by the way a bit outdated since the Higgs-Boson was discovered in 2013 but I will forgive them that since the manga was released in 2011.

*That was the overall story, now let’s talk about the individual arcs. There weren’t that many interesting arcs in this anime, they were all quite boring. If had to choose the arc that I liked the most than I would say the one of Koutarou. That one interested me the most because of the theme and because it’s one of the longer arcs in the anime so there’s actual time for some development.

But some of the other arcs were so boring also because they were so short, there are a couple of ‘arcs’ that only last one episode like the one of Chinami or the arc about the ghost girl which was the weirdest arc of this anime by far.

*Next up is the animation, DK had some serious animation problems. Even I noticed that they used looped animation multiple times and the epiphany of the bad animation was Yamato’s car in the last episodes. I almost got a hearth attack when I saw that. The animation was absolutely not at the level that I am used to from A1-Pictuers.

*Another thing that A1 disappointed me with was the comedy. Such lame and stereotypical comedy is not what I expect from A1. A1 is a really weird animation studio, they can make diamonds of anime’s like Anohana or Shigatsu but then at other times they completely miss the ball. Another disappointment of them this year to me was Saenai Heroine no Sodatekata and with DK they again missed the ball completely.

Conclusion

So as a conclusion, DK was a huge disappointment to me. I was expecting a lot more from this anime but it turned out to be a very cliché and boring anime. That’s why I’m going to rate Denpa Kyoshi at 2 stars. A1, step up your game when it comes to comedies because this is no good for your reputation.
