Lets start with the story of Trigun. To start this show has a great story, the reason it is great is because it keeps you hooked. After each episode I just wanted to watch more to find out what happens. The pacing is superb and allows for someone to be interested while not being bored as it sets up the rest of the story. Nothing in the story felt rushed. Also, the story evolves from being something that just seems like a cool western with not much story to begin with, into an amazing plot. It escalates and gets better each episode which makes this story amazing.

Animation in this series is also solid. It is not the best thing I have ever seen but it did not hold the anime back at all. The fights were animated well and nothing was wrong with it. However the style is a bit different from a traditional anime but not by much. It has a more classic feel but it goes well with the show. It does not feel out of place and it all flows nicely so no complaints. The more I watched the more this style grew on me.

For sound this anime is great. I am being biased here because I love the guitar solo in the opening but it fits the show and it goes well with the action. Throughout the whole show the music used was fitting and epic.

This show had so many great characters. The main character Vash is fantastic all around a great character. He has a large backstory and their is more to him than meets the eye. The more you learn about him the more interesting the he becomes and it makes the story even more interesting. His philosophy is a nice changeup from a usual character while still fitting in with a main character esque theme. Also, the support characters are good too. The main cast around Vash does not have as great and detailed backstories but even characters that are of little to almost no importance to the series are excellently depicted. Interesting characters overall and they keep the series interesting.

Overall I would give this anime a 10/10 because of how much I enjoyed it and for the fact that in almost every area I loved it. Even thought the animation was not the best I have ever seen it does not hold the series back and it still looks amazing in my eyes. This show was a real treat.

Should you watch this? Hell yes. This is a must watch anime for anime lovers. With fantasticly depicted characters and in depth and interesting story and the animation and sound to back it all up you can't go wrong with Trigun.

****I admit I am probably a little too subjective on this one***

This is one of my favorite animes ever.

The story surrounds a strong MC (Vash) who gets hunted down due to the destruction that has surrounded his existence. This leads to more and more destruction which makes him more feared and hunted. There is an ok overarching plot, but it is more of a progressive adventure.

  • The characters are good. The MC has a good heart and saves people, towns, and eventually the world.
  • The action is good- though sometimes unrealistic for humor’s sake.
  • Speaking of humor, there is a lot in this anime. Some jokes make you laugh, others are just ok.
  • The western sci-fi setting and world building are excellent.

I have hardly any gripes other than the fact that:

  • I think they could have explained Vash’s past earlier on in the anime to make the last few episodes more understandable.
  • There is a pacifist philosophy that is idealistic- but not realistic in our world.

Overall, I would give it a 9/10. It is extremely fun and interesting to watch.

One of those classic anime that wins you over even when you don't think you will enjoy it at first. That was exactly my first standpoint on this anime before I eventually relented and watched it. A unique ode to both Dystopian and Western fiction that strikes a chord with the viewer. There is always an allure I find to traditionally drawn anime such as this which as a 90s kid is not hard to appreciate. Also, the just outlaw character is one from my childhood that appealed to me greatly and Vash's character is a great embodiment of that blending both childlike innocence with badass courage.

Truly an anime brimming with excitement, heat and moving storylines that endear you more to the characters. The sheer audaciousness, comedy, passion and human threads that make up Trigun are evident in Vash's harrowing adventures along with his unlikely comrades as each struggle with performing heroic deeds while contending with the sins of their own pasts, their fears, shortcomings, judgemental preconceptions and faults.

Of all the characters I found myself identifying with, Milly Thompson I related with much more than I thought. Naturally optimistic and kind, we're both will do anything to help another person in need. Genuinely like her (and Vash to a degree) Ibelieve that there is good in other people yet often get into trouble because of that trusting nature. Still, we give people the benefit of the doubt, and have confidence in the good nature in others, which sometimes leads to heartbreak. Most of all, that kindness to anyone and everyone, and willing do anything possible to help others are attributes I admire in her and Vash. Another reason why this anime deserves it renowned reputation.

What I Liked: The character development, the setting, the plot (even the mood whiplash I didn't mind),the soundtrack.

What I Didn't: Occasionally low-quality animation (e.g. "lazy" shots) - justifiable but still something that annoyed me, the soundtrack (while good) sounded dated.

Final Verdict: The best Space Western one could hope for, where elements of both blend together in harmony with great characters and proper philosophical banter. Highly recommended to anyone over 15.

The Series has a more complex plot than one would have thought at first blush. It can be seen as an allegory of deeper issues within society as it relates to dysfunctional people. However putting the esoteric discussion to the side, this Anime is a fun adventure through a contempory Wild West. The MC who has a particular connection with his hand-gun (no spoilers) is trying to find atonement for the death of someone he cared for, and blowing half the moon away....asfor the Murder the true villian was his brother. Brother seems a strange description once yu discover as few facts as to their birth, but in the story they are refrred toas brothers as well. There are two interesting female reporters who follow him around and a range of miscellanious charactes to keep any diserning person happy. Lots of gun play and many other weird weapons keepthe action pumping and remember that it is a contempory or futuristic Wild West  so there are robots and mechs to keepup the levbelof violence without the colour ered. I thought that it was so much fun that I bought the series.
