Taisho Otome Fairy Tale

Taisho Otome Fairy Tale

In Taisho-era Japan, 17 year-old Tamahiko Shima loses the use of his right hand in an accident that also claims the life of his mother. He is sent away to live in a remote area of Chiba prefecture, isolated so his disability doesn't bring shame to his wealthy family. Bitter at the betrayal, Tamahiko has given up on life until a bright ray of sunshine knocks on his door in the form of Yuzuki Tachibana, a petite young girl who announces she has been purchased by Tamahiko's father to become his bride! As the pessimistic boy and his innocent, eternally optimistic bride-to-be adjust to their new living situation, Tamahiko comes to understand what it means to cherish someone, and slowly begins to see that he is neither useless nor worthless - regardless of what his father might think. Little by little, he finds himself changing under Yuzu's positive influence.

Both animes are romantic comedies where the main character guy suddenly meets their cute future girlfriend. Tonikawa takes place in a modern world and has a cute and colorful story, whereas Taisho Otome Fairy Tale takes place in a historical world and definitely has more of a darker and deeper content. Nevertheless, both animes have cute characters that will grow on the watcher.

Both feature cute characters falling in love with each other and pretty laid back stories, not really diving deep into the drama department. Lighthearted fun imo

Both extremely cute and fluffy! The main female lead has some balls to take the first move and its not overly cringey!

Because they are both wholesome, light-hearted, romantic comedies with similar premise and mood.

If you know of rom-coms, you then know of the general formula. A (sometimes unlikely) couple usually get together by the end, after a bunch of hijinks, while also overcoming melodrama and finally confessing. These two shows, however, put their own interesting twist in the rom-com tradition, in that the main couple actually get into a relationship very early on. 'My Love Story!' and 'Tonikaku Kawaii' are just that; anime about the lives of a dating/married couple, with a relaxing and comedic tone. Very little drama present in these shows and in the few moments when there is drama, it's sincere.

Not highly recommended for those seeking more of an engaging plot line rather than just a character-driven show. Both shows are primarily meant for fun, relaxation, and good laughs.

Bith of these animes are really good with not much cliche drama. Very little drama but shows how the couples get along or learn to do so and their times together.

Both the MC's and the girl start off as a couple from ep 1 and are pretty much slice of life animes where there isn't really an overarching plot going on: just daily antics detailing their cutesy relationships. Both the male MC's are also kinda accident prone, and their female partner has to step in and save them often

Both series feature cohabitation themed vanilla romance. It's quite enjoyable to watch while it's about the couple, but starts falling apart whenver story is introduced. Odds are, you'll find some enjoyment out of one if you liked the other.

In both male lead finds himself suddenly married to an alien girl (or something along the lines). At times Onegai Teacher tries to be a more serious romance, but with mixed results. On the other hand, Tonikawa is a more lighthearted vanilla rom-com. I can't guarantee you'll like one if you liked the other, but if what I wrote sounds interesting, it might be worth a shot.
