Parasyte -the maxim-

Parasyte -the maxim-

In secret, alien parasites drift downwards toward Earth. Their directive: to take control of a human body and thrive in secret. Both animes have darker themes, struggle with humanity, and gore. Each main character is half-human, and half-other... and this half 'other' is the source of their troubles.

Both anime feature a normal, nerdy kid who is unwittigly dragged into a secret world full of cannibals, and who must make peace with his monsterous new abilites too avoid becoming a monster, while protecting those he cares about from those who would kill and eat them. Parasyte has more dark humor, and Tokyo Ghoul more tragedy/drama.

Because both animes tell a history of a normal student that one day become in a "monster". That's my opinion!

Attack on Titan

Attack on Titan

Over a century ago, mankind was devoured by giant beings of unknown intelligence and origin known as Titans – creatures that eat humans alive indiscriminately and for no apparent reason. There are alot of similarities between Attack on Titan and Tokyo Ghoul including the idea that humans are food. the main characters are both attacked by monsters and their lives are drasticaly changed because of it. In attack on titan eren and the gang then dedicate their lives to fighting these monster while in Tokyo Goul the main character has to fight the monster within. both shows will have the familiar sounds of poeple screaming, people dieing, people throwing up, and people fighting for their lives. If you liked one you will like the other. These are two great shows and I cant wait to see more of them both.

Both are gorey, bloody animes, where Humans have been taken off the top of the food chain and are subject to being eaten. Both have a strong and determined male protagonist.

princezach princezach says

both are gorey, blood filled animes where humans are on the menu, literally. both have great character development that really hits the feels hard when something bad happens to them, and something bad always happens in these animes

When I watched the first ep of tokyo kushu I was greatly reminded of psycho-pass because they both entail a dark story. They're both very bloody, violent, and tell a tragedy that follows either Kogami or Kaneki. These two animes are extremely similar and have a more mature theme than majority of the high school age animes. The main characters are always fighting themselves of what is the right thing to do or the wrong thing to do. As they are both branded as evil by their contemporary society, and yet both try to find light and justice in whichever ways they possibly can.

Tonally dark, a splash of violence and gore, OST's that compliment the show perfectly, morally grey characters and a more mature story telling style than other shows in the genre - These are just some of the similarities that make this an easy recommendation to make straight off the bat.

yeah these both fill that sense of violence, eerieness and suspenseful action that could leave you wondering who would live or who would die
