The reason I make this suggestion is because the MC gets pulled into death, killing and other things they don't want. Darwins game may not be as dark as Tokyo Ghoul, but I would still reccomend it, if you really enjoyed TG.

Both anime have a relatable, plain protagonist whose life becomes a tragic mess and doesn't deserve any of it.

There are couple of similarities between the two anime (like the coffee shop headquarter, the hunting game, the fighting family/friends etc.) and if you like the style and the theme you will like both anime.

All they must do is sign a contract with Kyubey and agree to fight witches that spread despair to the human world, and in return they will be granted a single wish. Okay, so hear me out on this one. Tokyo Ghoul is much darker and made for older audiences than Madoka Magica. Both anime are significantly different from eachother.

But! They both deal with innocent protagonists that get caught up in a world they don't belong in. They search for the best way to deal with it and constantly end up facing the horrors of their new lives. Both Kaneki and Madoka try to protect their friends from everything, but at some point end up failing and blaming themselves. Besides that, both anime have a significant overall tragic feeling to them, from beginning to end. And adding the beautiful visuals, great plots and stunning action scenes, I think most people would like Tokyo Ghoul after Madoka Magica and vice versa.

But things change when he meets the beautiful pop idol, Inori, who is on the run from GHQ soldiers. While trying to save her from her captors, he acquires a mysterious power called the Void Gene that allows him to pull items or weapons from anyone under the age of seventeen. Now, Shuu must decide whether to join the efforts of the well-funded radical terrorist group "Funeral Parlor" and fight against the GHQ, or shrug off his newfound power and resume his normal life - assuming that either the GHQ or Funeral Parlor's charismatic leader, Gai, will let him.

Both anime explore what is right and wrong thing to do. They both present interesting views of world in shades of grey. While Tokyo Ghoul may be a little bit darker than Guilty Crown both works did great in this aspect.

Also what is really good in both of them are beautiful drawings and animation, captivating music and great action.

Okay, you're probably thinking I'm crazy now, but here me out. Both main characters start off as pretty big losers and were asked out on a date by a mysterious girl. They were both killed at the end of their first date and eventually turned into a supernatural creature. They were both taken in by their kind and I can't really see anymore similarites after that. Both of these anime are amazing, and can guarentee that if you like one, you would like the other. Although, I liked High school DxD more considering its my favourite anime.

Both anime deal with a humanoid super-race (Ghouls in Tokyo Ghoul, Attractors in Towa no Quon) in Tokyo being targeted by humans. While the reason for this is different between the series, and the storytelling method is different (Towa no Quon is a mini-series while Tokyo Ghoul is a TV show), both anime have intense and often bloody battles, a super species with a vast number of possible abilites, and deal with secretive orgnizations. There is also some talk about abuse and traumatic pasts in both series that affect some characters, if that's something you like to see characters develop around. Both anime also have an interesting mix of almost strange magical abilities within a familiar urban eviroment, although the timeline of this eviroment is slightly different. I would reccomend one to someone who enjoyed the other because they have an amazing amount of parallels you almost wouldn't expect just by looking at the cover art or synopsis.
