Noragami

Noragami

Yato, the supposed God of Calamity, is so far down on the Shinto totem pole that he doesn't even have any followers or a shrine to call his own and has to do odd jobs to make ends meet. Worst of all, his aloof and somewhat goofy personality has just cost him his newest partner and best holy weapon. When the down-on-his-luck Yato is saved by an unfortunate soul called Hiyori, he's forced to take on a brand new job - to turn her back into a human and fix her supernatural out-of-body experiences! Can Yato, a Regalia-less, miserly minor god, even attempt such a tall order? And is there more to him than his ridiculousness lets on?

Both shows revolve around a human girl being involved in some madness going over japanese ghosts

LamiaNymph LamiaNymph says...

Both series involve a human girl somehow getting involved with the supernatural thanks to encountering a dark haired young man in a unusual way. Eventually a young blonde man down the line as well.

Both series also go over Japanese mythology, folk tales, legends, and ghosts.

Maddiemouse Maddiemouse says...

Both series are shows about people who end up being pulled into the shenanigans of local spirits through circumstance. However, Noragami has a bit more complex plot compared to Hanako and it abandons comedy for some serious moments.

KorosenpaiX3 KorosenpaiX3 says...

Both are similar in a way with cute guy spirit making cute girl human into their assistant and then having a third guy in the group and being friends and taking on other spirits! Both are amazing and I love the characters and art direction in both

TsUkAsA666 TsUkAsA666 says...

1. They are both amazing 2. They both have a girl who interacts with ghost and fights and stuff

Anexistinghuman Anexistinghuman says...

Girl gets attached to a nonhuman-human thingy in some way (in one show, it's a god, in the other it's a ghost).  That's already a fun start!  Plus both shows are very good in their own ways!

LUCIIIII LUCIIIII says...

Both series are about a cute girl meeting a "ghost" boy, and as well as having an third guy in the group.

They are also similar about the japanese folks, myths and stories eventhough, the art style is totally different and the way things are represented too.

Bluebellindy Bluebellindy says...

they both have to do with the supernatural and are really good. also whenever the characters get intense it looks really cool.

Kari5 Kari5 says...

Both of these shows are about a teenage girl who finds herself thrown into paranormal adventures with an arrogant supernatual guy. They can deal with a few serious themes at times, but are mostly chill.

These animes both have supernatural interactions and fun stories. Tanjiro and Hanako are both trying to beat the evil side even though their both afraid of doing it so. Tsukasa and Muzan both created a source of evil in a violent way.

These two animes have a lot in common which is why I think their a good match up.

DarwinsGame DarwinsGame says...

Both feature spirits/demons and a fun loving but determined protagonist who cares about their friends/family. Both feature plenty of humor, though Toilet-Bound Hanako-Kun has a lot less action and fighting than Demon Slayer.

These two remind me of each other because they both use Japanese folklore. Each episode has a different story of some kind of new spirit the main characters come into contact with.

guerrillagoth guerrillagoth says...

They both have an eeriness about them; a human assistant helping mystical beings; secrets secrets secrets. XXXHolic is a bit more mature, but Hanako has more heart.

Gavia Gavia says...

If you want more of a human acting as an assistant to a supernatural creature, with elements of Japanese folklore and spirits in the background, look no further. Though their plots are similar, tonally they can be different with XXXHolic leaning more towards philosophical moments, while Hanako going for comedy. Despite that, fans of one should find enjoyment in the other.

They are also very well polished adventures about young kids. Personally, I see a very large similarity between my two favorite animes!!

Both are animes about ghost, there is a human that can see a ghost just like in Hanako-kun where is nene x Hanako, also there is someone that can see them cuz of their family just like Kou can. There are also rumors.

So:

-Both have human that did something to see the ghosts,Nene called for hanako in tha bathrooms and That guy looked into a mirror

-In Maiden there is a girl that doesn't like the ghost and she wants to get rid of her at the start and can see her thanks to her family tree just like Kou in anime Hanako kun.
