The Eminence in Shadow

The Eminence in Shadow

Shadowbrokers are those who go unnoticed, posing as unremarkable people, when in truth, they control everything from behind the scenes. Cid wants to be someone just like that more than anything, and something as insignificant as boring reality isn't going to get in his way! He trains in secret every single night, preparing for his eventual rise to power—only to deny his destiny by a run-of-the-mill (yet deadly) traffic accident. But when he wakes up in another world and suddenly finds himself at the head of an actual secret organization doing battle with evil in the shadows, he'll finally get a chance to act out all of his delusional fantasies!

Basically same premise, but one doesn't Eminence in Shadow take itself as seriously, and thus has slightly better comedy.

After watching Eminence in Shadow, I felt like I had just rewatched the world's finest Assassin but with a more OP mc and some more random shi*t happening.

The two got the same spirit and that personality works really well in those lore.

If you liked one of them, the other is without a doubt a Must Watch, trust me.

Cuervo92 Cuervo92 says...

both mcs are super strong assasins, but the eminence mc is really over powered compared to rest and laughs at them.

Magic construction in Finest is much much better

J3M4ND J3M4ND says...

both depict an overpowered Assassin sourounded by girls. Also both animes depict death as something natural and see no problem with the Protagonist killing.Another similarity is, that both main characters created their own tradeemire and recruted girls from the street, or ones in some form of relation to them.

Littlesilverwolf Littlesilverwolf says...

Both anime about main reincarnated into assassin and being surrounded by girls who are helpful to the assassin job. Both having similar style of main being powerful and in a magic and sword world.

A middle-aged man is reborn into a world of magic. He has acquired an impressive amount of mana and can cast spells better than experienced mages. He finds a young female tutor who is able to teach her preliminary magic. Before reaching manhood he leaves his loving parents behind and goes on a multi-year venture where he finds a young girl to train.

Good animation, great protagonists and charachter develompent. stuning landscapes. intriguing stories and good, fresh outakes on the isekai genre

Corgii Corgii says...

Both have to do with reincarnating in a world with magic and making contact with some type of God. Instead of having a mission to carry out from a God of some sort, jobless Reincarnation is focus more on the main character growing from his past trauma and all the people he meets along the way. It can be a little bit uncomfortable to watch because of the more (sexually) mature parts of the show but overall it's a good watch.

both main protagonists have a past life that was anything but ordinary. On the contrary, it was more dark. The new life in both anime seems like a more exciting life.

The main protagonists of both anime are also OP in a pretty cool way tbh. They aren't all just OP attacks with swords. One is with magic that is unheard of in their new life. the other is the embodiment of assassination with both the skills, smarts, stealth, and everything else that is required.

I personally loved both of these anime.

Mistfall Mistfall says...

Both animes have strong hero with skills from past life. Both focus on their goal and look at girls around them as tools helping in their goals, at least in the beginning.

YiliJams YiliJams says...

If you like OP MCs using their past knowledge to surprise everybody and standing secretly on the summit, those shows are for you.

it really is random sh*t isekai, but it's also too fun to avoid them.

Littlesilverwolf Littlesilverwolf says...

Both anime with mc being betrayed and reincarnated. They decided to manipulate others and use them as tools in the new life. Well, at least in the beginning.

Both tell a great story about assassins in matured and violence way. Also both MCs try to make the world a better place through killing the right people. They are not many episodes. The pace of  the story telling and the  animations are perfect.

JustInCaseD JustInCaseD says...

Both are about assassins that have a very clear about the theme about knowing what they're doing is murder and morally wrong, but use it as a means to what they view as "justice" anyway.

Both also start to become pseudo-harem animes around the halfway point.

Black Butler

Black Butler

In Victorian England it is commonplace for the rich and wealthy to have a staff, led by a head butler, to run their households; the Phantomhive Estate is no different. The young and demanding Count Ciel Phantomhive, child owner of a toy company, lives in the grand countryside manor. Sebastian is his head butler, and the epitome of perfection; he effortlessly and gracefully completes his day-to day chores and fixes the countless mistakes of the other employees. However, whilst on the outside all seems prim and proper, a more sinister secret lies just beneath the surface. Sebastian is in fact a demon bound by a contract with the young count; he will loyally serve and fight for him in return for his soul.

Dawnfaux Dawnfaux says...

Both have young male villainous nobles as the main character. Each series has a set of specially trained staff under the guise of being normal. The main character must deal with certain underworld affairs because of their family. If I had to pick out a really big difference, it's just that the other anime seems a bit more light hearted than Black Butler and has a slight bit of harem vibe.
