Ivy's daily life is anything but the peaceful, ordinary childhood enjoyed by other children. She possesses memories of a past life in another world, and at five years old, she learns to her parents' shame that she only has one low-level skill: taming extremely weak creatures. Unwanted by her family, she begins living in a nearby forest, learning to survive on her own with the help of her village's local fortune-teller. But when Ivy's "starless" existence is blamed for the old woman's misfortune a few years later, the child is forced to flee to avoid being killed. She journies from town to town collecting discarded items and selling what she can, until one day Ivy encounters a rare slime that she names Sora. What adventures await the young girl and her slimy new companion?
There are only 7 episodes out at the time of my review. I hopped on this early because I didn't want anyone to make the same mistake I almost did. I almost dropped this show initially because I did not like how they handled the main character talking to themself and was getting really annoyed and confused by it. This will be explained later on, but I don't want to go in further depth and spoil it for anyone who has yet to watch. The main thing you need to know is that this show gets really good and it's worth powering through the beginning even if you are feeling how I did initially. The payoff is gonna be chef's kiss. This went from one I almost stopped watching to one I eagerly await new releases of. Happy watching and I'll try to remember to update the review when the season ends.
