Haruyoshi is the strongest onmyouji in his world. He's betrayed by his friends and, on the verge of death, he wishes to be happy in his next life. He then attempts a secret reincarnation spell. The spell is a success and he is reincarnated, but somehow it's in another world. He is reborn into a distinguished family of wizards, but is judged to have no magical ability. He soon realizes however that the magic in this world is nothing compared to his old onmyou arts, and he declares that he doesn't need magic. He thus begins his easy life in another world with his onmyou arts and a multitude of youkai creatures who follow him.
“I cherish peace with all my heart. I don't care how many men, women, and children I need to kill to get it.” Quote by Peacemaker came to my mind, when I finished watching the last episode of this series. It combines different things in what would be otherwise generic fantasy isekai, which give it unique and novel feel to it. The first interesting thing was idea to have protagonist introduce eastern exorcist magic system into usual fantasy with elemental magic. It does include summoning of various youkais to fight for him. The second is how ruthless main protagonist can be in order to achieve his goals. He is daemon with face of young boy to paraphrase from Youjo Senki. It reminds me bit of Cid from Kage no Jitsuryokusha and characters from Overlord. It presents the same theme of encountering foreign and overwhelming power. The MC is extremely overpowered … edgelord. I found MC making poems before decapitating powerful enemies very enjoyable. If that would be everything, the show would be fine, but author decided to wove the above with the most generic isekai fantasy. MC having school-life, tournament, adventure. Servant girl Yifa madly in love with MC. Other girls liking MC as well. MC has Jealous brother. Princess in love with MC . Prince, who wants to force Yifa into his harem . Clearly the story is all over the place. Finally, there is the whole plot about everybody wanting to kill the hero and MC wanting hero to hide in her shadow. It’s theme of authorities killing powerful individuals, because of fear. I could understand this element in regards to MC’s past life experience, but how the series worked with it didn’t make much sense. Audio visually the series is ok. I like how the soundtrack carries exorcist theme when MC uses his powers and summons. I don’t care about the OP and ED. Overall, the story in terms of quality is not good. Except the MC and his jealous brother version 2.0 characters are rather boring. Youkais CG aside are pretty cool. Generally speaking, action element was for me the more enjoyable part of the series. If you are die-hard fan of isekai or you like very OP protagonist type of show, I would strongly recommend you to check it out. It has some ludicrous moments that are unintentionally comical. I recommend give it chance at least until the very end of episode four. Final score 8/10 solely on enjoyment. Based on story and characters 5/10. Spoilers Because she can see future, she loved him even before they met sic. He is self-made harem protagonist.
I am actually a sucker for bad isekai story and I actually still watch this one even though I almost completly hate it. The story really is just another bad isekai story. The animation is pretty bad, but they make it look pretty funny sometimes so it's ok. The characters lack a bit character for me. I actually liked the first 10 episodes, but so many things are questionable for me, the next thing is a spoiler for episode 9 the fact that everyone wants to force her to do something she dosn't wan't to do is just digusting to me, the fact that the prince or something invited tried to invite her in his bedroom so many times is also disgusting. I wan't to know what he would have done if she actually came or if she wouldn't want to be his wife after he brought her free. Spoiler for the first episodes I hate the brothers, the writing of both of them is just bad, the older brother really said ,,Oh yeah I kinda ignored you because you aren't like us'' and the second brother is just the dumb stereotype which you ''need'' as a sacrifice for the MC. Everything else is actually pretty ok for my taste (I actually don't have high standarts)
Saikyou Onmyouji no Isekai TenseikiThe Reincarnation of the Strongest Exorcist in Another World This anime is your typical Isekai with an overpowered protagonist that everyone treats like a saint because he is the only capable person in the whole universe. It's just like I said, only with the slight difference that the anime has a decent plot and progression. Until the last episode, there were several events that you didn't see coming and that were unusual. Likewise, the protagonist was given some depth through his background. Positive words aside, the anime remains just plain dull average after all, even though I found it interesting from time to time. The problem is simply that it does everything you do in a weak isekai, except that the story is a bit more mature. The most interesting aspect of the show for me was not just the protagonist's use of alternate magic. It was the way he was trying to live his contradictory life. He wanted to prevent it from ending the same way as his previous life and talked about it so many times, yet he chose the wrong paths over and over again. It was misleading at first, but it was resolved by the end. Unfortunately, this Anime will never be able to grow out of itself because it simply lacks essence. It's empty, there's just nothing there. Empty fights lead to nothing, except to show how strong the protagonist is. The dialogues are just written one-sided to hype the protagonist. If you could ask what the job of the other main female characters is, it would be this - "You stay right here and try to look cute". There's nothing more to it than that, they have no particular relevance and there's no moment that didn't have to be solved with their help. The protagonist could have done everything on his own and you wouldn't even need them. Thank God the characters were average and not annoying, which makes the whole thing more bearable. Only the last 2 episodes were really interesting, even if the result disappointed me. The anime had many decent basic ideas that unfortunately came to nothing. I'd like to give them more, but that's beyond the realm of possibility. Compared to the protagonist, they were all just showpieces. They had minimal personality, that was it, there is nothing more behind them. As said before, the protagonist was the one-sided dominance of this series, who gave no one else the show. Which simply allowed nothing to happen. The animations were also very erratic, now and then they reached an above-average level and then again they were just bad. From episode 7/8 on, you saw a particular drop in quality. Backgrounds were also only average. [Conclusion 4] The anime is not bad and for me one of the "better" Isekai I have seen. However, it is crammed with ideas, where none was executed. Which is a shame, in more capable hands it could have been even a better Isekai than Shield Hero. [Enjoyment 5]
