When tennis phenom Ryoma Echizen is kicked out of Japan’s elite U-17 training camp for breaking the rules, he’s despondent. But a stroke of good luck hits when he’s able to try out for the U.S. team. Proving himself against their hardened veterans isn’t going to be easy, and if he is accepted, he’ll have to play against his former friends.
I've read the manga and it is so much better. Comparing this to the old prince of tennis, this anime doesn't do it justice. If you like the prince of tennis series I would recommend reading the manga instead. The animation wasn't that great even in terms of it being an anime in 2022. I honestly think the original prince of tennis is better. The anime also rushes things a bit so you won't get as emotionally attached to the characters as you would in the original series. It also wouldn't be possible to do that in 13 episodes unless they slowed down the pacing a bit more. I would have honestly preferred it to be a bit slower rather than battle after battle after battle since there wasn't really interesting about them since the story and animation didn't really become cohesive. They left out many things from the story which is kind of disappointing since that is what made the prince of tennis interesting. Overall, if you are a hardcore fan I guess watch it, but the manga is leagues ahead in terms of it being better.
