Sakurasou was an anime which managed to hold my interest despite its fairly average storyline. It never made me bored, but I never went beyond feeling lukewarm about each week's episode arriving. Something was missing in it for me, and I'm not quite sure what that was. Not a bad show by any means, though.

Story: Basically, a school/slice of life story about some pretty crazy characters, most of whom have talents that set them apart from "normal" people. It utilizes typical plotlines [school festival, foreign friend arriving to take someone home, threat of their home being shut down] to explore the relationships of the characters vis a vis their dreams and aspirations. While the story didn't stand out as above average, it was very very relatable. Big themes were talent vs. hard work and the outcomes of success/failure, unrequitted love, and friendship.

Animation and Sound: The voice acting was good and added to the personality and distinctiveness of each character. Given the serious themes, I thought the art style actually detracted from the reality of the story, but it was pleasant to look at.

Characters: Each one was unique and interesting. Character development happened, but it was more in a resolving-of-situations way and less in an actual deep change in beliefs sort of way.

For some reason, I can't quite bring myself to give this one a full 7. Its parts were good, but the sum of the parts was lacking something. Maybe it was too relatable to be realistic/too realistic to be relatable, maybe the art really jarred with my sense of the point of the story, maybe the characters' were too frustrating, maybe I'm just crazy.

Recommended for fans of "crazy people in a group" stories.

At first I liked this anime. It looked nice and gave off really good vibe. But I just think facebook recommendations are not a go when it comes to watching anime. Yes, another one I got from a fb goup recommended a lot to watch.

I know Shiina is supposed to be cute but it gets annoying real quick how one person can be stupid. Other characters are either annoying or blunt. I liked it at first as I said, but the more I watched it the more boring and annoing it got. If you are not literally searching and liking these types of anime where your female lead is a shy dumb girl then do not watch it.

This is a beautiful Anime, plenty of Comedy, Romance, Depth-to-characters, and over-all a great watch.

The Story is effectively just a handful of misfits who're all really talented in some way or another, or are big dreamers, and they're stuck in a Boarding Hall away from the "normal" student dorms. However this is the perfect set-up for creating a eccentric environment where the MC's all grow and bond together.

Sound: 10/10, haven't paid much attention to it. Which is probably a good thing.

Characters: 10/10. It's great to see how all the characters develop on their own skills and passions, and how their uniqueness brings them all together.

The story centers around the residents of the Sakura-sou dormitory which are all very unique not only in their talents but also in their personalities. I found the concept appealing but the story in itself was not that great. It kept me interested enough to finish it and I laughted as much as I enjoyed some sad parts that pulled in my heart strings, however, I felt that the plot lacked purpose. For these reasons, maybe 24 episodes were a bit of a stretch in my opinion.

The characters are without a doubt the stars of the story. You can't help but fall in love with each one, there are no "bad" ones to speak of. They may be stereotypical in some ways, but they kept me entertained and I did enjoy most of them. At the end, this is all about friendship and it puts a few things in perspective. I actually loved the idea of sometimes trying as hard as you can it's not enough and the fact that life is not fair because that is exactly what happens in real life. These ideas make it easier for someone to relate to the feelings portrayed by the characters.

I enjoyed waching it and truly loved the characters which are in my opinion the main feature. I do recommend the anime but I would not say that is on the top of my list. I think this anime is suitable to kill time and have a god laugh.

I see this anime as one of the greatest underrated classics. The cast is incredible loveable and builds around every character so well that you will miss them by the time you finish the final episode. Not only is it incredibly funny, but it also contains very real world lessons about life, effort, morals and success in shockingly relatable ways and situations that makes you really think about yourself after watching it.

It's also one of the rare animes that headlines a character with disabilities, specifically austism, as part of it's main cast and story. As someone who has a brother in that category, that was one of the initial reasons why I was drawn to the show and started watching it.

Even if you aren't very much into slices of life animes, as I certainly didn't think I was before watching it, I would still genuinely recommend giving this show a try. Some of you may be sceptical of what I'm saying, but I think you'd figure out for yourself what I mean after only just a lil' taste if you give it the chance.
