The Legend of Hei - Reviews

One of the sweetest movies I have ever seen! The art style is kinda simple but charming and the animation..... THE ANIMATION IS FREAKIN AWESOME! All the movements flow so smoothly despite the art being simplistic. The story is engrossing and cute. All the characters are pretty likable as well. Honestly, a must-watch for everyone who likes adventure and fantasy (especially those who like cats!).

I recently watched this movie just because it was there in my recommended so without any prior knowledge to the web series or description of the movie I watched it. I was extremely suprised, in a good way, the animation was really smooth to the point where even in fast paced scenes like fighting scenes you can understand what's going on as you can see the frames clearly. The art style is certainly different and a lot more cartoony but still pleasing to watch. It is a Chinese anime movie so audio was in Chinese (obviously) which was fairly uncommon in the world of anime as there as only a select few Chinese anime that are actually good and "make it" when it comes to getting views (all of which is my opinion btw). Anyway the story it's self was amazingly briliant, so much so that I couldn't stop thinking about it, and thus watched it the day after. The sound was fairly good, pretty much what you'd expect from a high budget anime movie thing. The characters were executed perfectly all of their unique personalities and their backstories as well as their hidden agendas were all presented amazingly. Overall I really really really recommend you watch this movie and would go as far as to even say it is one of the best movies I have seen (my opinion + I don't exactly have knowledge of all movies ever created). Probably the best animated chinese movie to date! Light hearted and oh so beautifully animated! The arts are just so BEautifulllll

WOW amazing animated movie!The animation is amazing. I love the main characters. It can be confusing how the words they say are in chinese but I thonk that is doesn't matter that much. the story is about a boy/cat and you'll fall in love with him beacuse he is sooo cuutee.

I can't express how much I loved The Legend of Hei. The story is one that I wasn't expecting to see. It's something new and exciting, wholesome, and nostalgic. The character development is incredible, some of the best I've seen and with the music added, you can almost feel and experience the natural beauty of their world. The animation and sound is amazing as well, it's very clear and vibrant. Honestly, you can fall in love with a movie like this one. I watched the english dubbed version, which alined perfectly with the original voice acting, on Tubi (a free streaming site).
