Both of these series are about characters who join a large, already exsisting, company to become members of popular Japanese idol groups. Both AKB and Cinderella Girls follow characters as they face the sometimes harsh challenges of showbiz, but don't forget to include the positive sides as well. AKB49 is able to go a bit better into details of the ido world due to it's length, but both provide a somewhat more realistic look of the idol world than other idol shows.
